So is everyone pretty happy with the quality of this dorkel besides the template issues? Cause I'm looking to pull the trigger soon since theyre in stock again.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Mine is sweet! Just send me your template so I can put this on already. Jesus

Well I got my “mushroom tip” :D on.
I bought a black 3” PVC pipe coupling and 1/4” x 6” long stainless threaded rod.
I used a dremel to shave down the divider in the center of the coupling, then used a cutting wheel and split the coupling long ways so it would squeeze when the time came to tighten the clamp. The coupling fit perfect on the top of the snorkel, but the precleaner was still a little loose on the coupling. I had some black vinyl wrap, so I cut about a 1 1/2” strip and wrapped the top half of the coupling to build up the thickness (you can’t see this because it’s covered by the precleaner).
It didn’t take much. Maybe 4 wraps.
With the coupling on the snorkel and the precleaner on the coupling, I drilled a 1/4” hole through the precleaner, coupling, and snorkel on opposite sides. I cut the stainless rod ~4 1/4” and inserted it all the way through, then tightened the clamp over the rod. Now the precleaner is essentially “locked” into the snorkel. Turned out pretty good and only took about 25-30 minutes.

That being said if there's anyone in SoCal (San Diego) area on the fence about picking one up shoot me a message and I'll hook you up...

At this point, you’ve already made permanent modifications to the truck.... I was also on the fence, but after looking up my trade-in value I figured I wouldn’t be losing any more by cutting up a fender. After all a fender is easier to replace than the bedsides, just ask @Khonception haha.

I was thinking about maybe going out there for a few days. I might just swing by and check it out on the trip west this summer.
