That's normal, raw metal, they don't paint/treat them. As many other parts, some are painted and then machined after.

Yeah, truck is under warranty... however, not for any issue which may have been caused by modifications you made. If changing wheels and lugs caused and/or is the problem, then that repair will be on you.

Well I also got the tire and wheel warranty add on (they threw it in for free for a deal). They said as long as my wheels and tires are OEM sizes (they are) the aftermarket pieces are covered too. I would assume I’d be good for the warranty. But who knows.

something sounds wonky here. you added aftermarket wheels but kept stock tires? and you have a vibration and steering wheel shake? sounds like your wheels aren't hub centric. had this issue many years ago on a vehicle and it drove me crazy. it is the very reason now I won't buy wheels for any vehicle unless I know 100% sure they are hub centric.

what wheels did you get? pics?

Check the runout on the brake rotors...probably warped one putting on the new wheels with impact wrench!

Looks like they are a tad bigger. Discount tire I didn’t need hub rings. Then again I’m not sure they know what they’re doing.

Yup, you need hub rings. I will bet that will resolve the issue if you havent warped anything already by not having them.

My truck had a vibration when new. Someone posted to try a few lbs higher tire pressure. I did and the vibration went away.

Appreciate the help. Going back to discount in an hour for a road force balance and telling them to put the rings on.

I went to 36 cold. Here's a item some people overlook on new rims. The factory puts a E clip over one of the lug bolts to hold the brake assembly tight while it goes down the assembly line. The factory rims have hole large enough to take car of this clip but SOME rims fit almost perfectly and causes a vibration or other problems. Just sayin.

not all cars/trucks have this, check it out.

Surely they could get them in a few days if you really like the rims.

Status update: the road force balance and work that was done today made the vibrations WAY WORSE. I ordered the rings myself and got a refund for the work at discount tire. Never had a problem with any other discount tire shop, this one sucks. I really do like these rims so I'll see how the rings play out.

I would inspect those wheels very carefully. With driving around, first with wrong lug nuts, and now know they are not hub centric. Good chance there is damage to wheels.
