im due for new tires and am trying decide between the ko2’s or the STT Maxx. I mainly drive two lane and lots of backroads (dirt/mud, gravel) Anyone have experience with these and would like to share?

I have the Maxx. It's worth speaking to how quiet they are for such an aggressive AT tire. They've done everything I've asked. Good on road manners dry, rain and snow. And good off road as expected. Only con being weight

I went from ko2’s to st Maxxs. Loved the ko2’s but I have a terribly time getting them balanced. Bad vibes between 55-62mph. Sold them and now love my st maxx’s.

    Too few to list.
These two tires are the only size that I found for AT 275/70R17. We have the K02's for about 60K miles and seems like it will go another year. They've been proven tires and have been around a long, long time. I have no experience with the ST Maxx but might give them a try when I replace the K02's.

ST Maxx do awesome in sand, dirt, snow, and quite well on ice. Even handle mud really well! They are also much quieter and ride better than my buddy's KO2s in the same size. Seems I can get through some terrain easier than he can as well, but I'm not sure if the issue is the tires or the driver... I honestly may stick with these for the life of the truck, I am that happy with them.

They are studdable as well if you care about that sort of thing.

I’ve had zero issues with my KO2s, really like them. I would definitely consider the ST Maxx as well for my next tire.
Only concern would be if they always pull to one side, some ST Maxx owners have complained about that.

I’ve never heard that on the Maxx’s that would definitely be a problem

I was thinking about trying the 255 80 17 in the Maxx.

I’m going to try and pull the trigger on 285/70/17’s on a 3” Bilstein lift. But I’m scared of to much rubbing. I wouldn’t mind trimming plastic but a cab mount chop would be farther then I would want to go

Its ST Maxx. Not STT Maxx.

Cooper has the strangest tire names.

But my ST Maxx were hands down the best tire i have ever owned.

The biggest complaint people have about them is that almost every set pulls a little to one side. Some say its the way they are cast in the molds, others say they are just fighting the crown in the road or following it. Either way, its something to consider. I’d say, go ahead and get an alignment when you get new tires to always be sure its not the truck.

Check my build thread...too much to list.
After seeing how well they last and perform on a buddies rig my next tires will be St Maxx. I'll be switching from KM2 though not KOs.

Aftermarket UCAs will really help you if you want 285s

I have the Maxx and I have a slight pull to the right. I don't even notice it now though. My alignment is off on that side and is way more noticeable.

Prob gets confusing since it is ST Maxx and STT Pro. Totally agree on the tires though!
