When I”purge local data” I get the top pic;when I install software I get the bottom pic???? I am using newest FM. I am dongless I use p5flash,not pcm

 

in the new FM accessing the menu at the top

1. Purge local
2. Download Software
3. Download Dongle Drivers (go through wizard - super fast and easy)
4. Check for updates

THEN open the PCMflash (dongle guys) and flash like usual

 

So, within FM I downloaded the 1.05 87 base. 87 Performance, Gear Lock, and FOB all failed to download. After downloading base. Within FM, I selected Config | Install All Software. Then, within FM, I selected Tuning | PCM Flash utility and went about installing the flash using the dongle instructions. This process is not documented anywhere that I have been able to find.

Also, is 1.05 87 Base the only .pcm file available for 87 right now?

 

I expect that the dongle drivers are a step we can skip, for those of us who have been using our dongles for an extended period of time. Yes?

 

When I didn't do it I couldn't flash directly from the new FM

 

i don't follow the AT's but i believe the download errors are because the files aren't there, and that's why you can DL the base file, which is released. someone will clarify...

That's exactly why there are download errors for those files. They aren't available yet.

 

Base 93 on way home... 1 misfire. Happy with that.

 

It's also because some tunes aren't for certain ECUs. With a little critical thinking, you realize that a MT has no need for a gear lock map. Anyway, MT gets base and FO. AT gets base and performance and perf+GL or something like that

 

I didn't reinstall drivers and all is well.

 

Can you please add Insane mode FO 91/93 tune for the M/T's....

I would highly appreciate a tip in less aggressive then the performance tune but more then the base.

I am getting ready to re-flash to base 1.05 MPG 87 since I am on 04A61. I had quite a few misfires going on prior to returning back to Stock TSB. Anyone logged misfire data since the release of the new base file? Curious to see if the misfires are improved.

 

So I got the original FM that was released Sunday to install and open properly. Can I update the program to the newest release that way? I'm thinking the added bit of software included something that my computer didnt like. Running 64bit windows 10 for those wondering

Edit, installed the updated release of FM without the Microsoft visual c++2015 addon package (unclick the check box) and everything loaded and started properly. Guess it all depends on what version of windows you have and how outdated it is.

 

Update . After the last loading after it said it was successful , it never said to turn off the truck .
We flashed 87 performance tune and it took much longer to load . and tip in changed so we know it happened and was good .I am wondering if going from 91 base to 91 performance may have a file marker that is a problem and thinks the tune is the same ? @OVTune

 

I would have never guessed that Goldilocks owned a Tacoma.....
