I have 3rd gen ones :boink:
@Arrowshot How is the steering rack holding up? I heard once you upgrade then that is just the next week point. I think I will stick with bending tie rods rather than killing steering rack.
This is exactly the information I was looking for! Thank you sir!:hattip:

Its coming together, I had to cut and turn the knuckles and move the perches to get my pinion angle and caster right but that is done.
Still needs steering I just need to order that, locker for the rear, got one for the front already. Got one drive shaft for the front that came with the 84 Toyota truck I bought just need to get it shortened and balanced and I have a rear driveshaft coming from Arizona out of a 89 4Runner that will have to be shortened when I get it for the rear.
The 89 to 95 4Runner driveshafts will bend 42 degrees so they shouldn't bind up on me.

My weak point now will be the transfer case mounting points at the frame so I may build me some new ones out of 1/4 inch.
Its coming together maybe it will be ready. :spending:

My son is working on putting a throttle body and injectors on a Samurai. I am waiting to see if he can get that to work if he does I'm going to do it to mine too.
He works a lot with MegaSquirt controllers and he thinks he can do it.
But when you ready to build I will help

Have CVs and spare tie rods I can loan you if you want to avoid buying them. Wish I could go but have to go to Hawaii for son's wedding. Retirement from federal job is also coming up this year.

Mine are holding up fine with two additional trips out west since the Moab trip. Got a clinking noise occasionally that I can't isolate at low speed when hitting pot holes but also might be a combination between the tie rods and Dirt King LCAs. All that said, I had a lot of issues with mis-matched parts when I ordered these that ended up with a call to manufacturer. He said they were really made for the long/extreme rally races where they are replaced after a single race. I am not putting my truck through that kind of fun and they seem to be holding up fine especially with alignments (last trip back from Colorado and alignment/tire wear seems fine). There should be a market for stronger tie-rods or the reinforcements. Allpro Offroad used to make heavier tie rods also but they dropped them for some reason about the same time they got banned from TW.

    I was just curious.

Someday I'll need an RTT, if my son continues with scouting.

I have two of them, got one fixed pretty good and decided to redo it lol. Have not even started on the other one yet. Well I put a new top on it and electric steering.
