All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I have noticed that the Tepui tents are also not as tall when put away. My HD one is much thinner than my IronMan/Arb.
At least from what I have seen/owned.

The Tepui tents are high on my list as they seem to be reasonably priced for a reputable name. Plus REI carries them so getting them at 20% comes around quarterly and any warranty issues would be painless.

CVT is on the list too as they now have a Chattanooga location. But they have a higher price tag. I think they are releasing some hard shell models soon if they haven't already.

There is about to be a lot of changes/options on some new tents hitting the market.
I will be going to a hard shell within the year. I see an AluCab in my future. With that said I will have two RTTs coming up for sale this year. Just not right at this moment.

I got the AluCab shadow awning and I wanna mount it for the trip, but Jesus this thing is serious. I am gonna need help. I will post the brackets I weld up, as it will be required for this heavy bastard. It’s being mounted to my trailer, not truck.

I'd prefer an AluCab over my fiberglass topper. Right now I can't justify the money. It would certainly be an increase in functionality, but none that I could capitalize on currently.

I'll keep my ears open to when you're ready to offload some. I'm not fully in the market to buy yet either, but I always like to look at and research gear related items.

CVT regularly has 20%-25% off sales almost quarterly. They had an end of summer sale which was 25% off all tents, that's when I got mine. And if you're looking for the smaller versions, CVT has the Bachelor which is a 2 person you'd only be looking at around $900. Follow them on Instagram to get first dibs on sale items and discounts. They also have an always active 15% off discount code for Tacomaworld members.

Cannot recommend CVT enough. I sent an e-mail thinking I'd been shorted some hardware for my tent. Within 5 minutes the owner of the company called me from his personal cell phone to walk me through finding where the hardware was stashed (it was inside one of the folds of the tent). Hard to beat that kind of service.

If I had the money I'd get one of these. But holy hell they cost more than my truck....

Just found this. Looks to be a solid deal considering dealer ideas of blemishes are always something we would hardly consider an issue.

Random question: Going to be purchasing a soft topper for my truck - are there any laws in GA about that top third brake light being blocked?

I cannot count how many years I've driven trucks with topper that I never bothered hook up the third brake light. I won't tell you it isn't illegal, but I will tell you I've never been approached about it. And I'm not at all concerned about it.
