We have a glut of Weller Special Reserve. Antique and 12 is still pretty uncommon. I'm on a number of waiting lists for both. I've scored 12 twice over the past couple of years and Antique once.

There is a store down the way that often has 1L bottles of Weller 12 for around $90 or so.

I've never seen anything other than special reserver down here in Houston, but then again I haven't been looking at bourbon for very long. My local shop is picking a barrel of 107 later next month, so when they get their bottles in August I hope to pick up at least one.

I have never had the Antique or the 12, but I would love to. I think I'm driving to west TX to turkey hunt this spring, so I will make it a point to stop at every liquor store, that I see, as I drive across the state...until I find one or the other, or both.

I've been buying the double rule for $31 and the prairie bourbon for $33. Great choices at those prices.

Just looked and Total Wine has it for $36. Never had it, but the reviews mostly say it's best for mixing (i.e. Highball).

My go to budget Bourbon. College kids have given 101 a bad name. It is truly my go to whiskey of choice. Underrated in every way.

I agree for the price its pretty solid, I'd also put Old Grand-Dad in that category the for inexpensive high proof stuff.

    @bvbull200
i would first like to thank you and @trekker for the Talisker recommendations. i got the Distillers, then the standard 10yr, and now I'm so happy. i just love the 10.

i have access in DFW to the typical: 10, 18, Storm, and Distillers. but I'm looking for some others from them, in particular Talisker Port Ruighe. i don't even know where to look in DFW. I've stopped at quite a few including Fine Spirits at Lemmon & Oak Lawn with nothing different. any ideas where i should be looking?

    Glad you enjoy it!

I'll check Mirage near me in Colleyville. He'll usually order in stuff for me if he can get ahold of it. If so, want me to get one? We can meet up for it.

Otherwise, I'll tell the other guys I hunt with to keep an eye out. My first hunch would be a Total Wine, but I'm not sure.

That's awesome! I'm with you, I really love the 10 too... it holds a special place in my whisky journey.

I've never seen the PR around Houston, but I'll keep an eye out.

AP is usually about $40 in Utah.

Regardless of how much you pay, know that it’s for a good cause. A portion of the sales go to American Prairie Reserve in Montana. If you ever get the chance to visit the place, just do it! It’s amazing!

Boss just bought a bottle of 21 year RedBreast, but I had to leave early so couldn’t taste it yet. Will get to compare it to 12 year, 15 year and Lustau versions of RB. So far 12 is my favorite which is good because it’s the cheapest.

    Now you’re talkin’

Just had some nice Clase Azul a few days ago. Scotch, bourbon, and tequila.... usually have 1-2 bottles of each of them about half way gone.
