I joined in January 2017. I didn't get that vibe at all. Still don't. There are a few exceptions though.

Mentoring someone who has the foresight to ask before doing something stupid is much different then trying to mentor every person that's already done something stupid and is unprepared for it. If it comes across as arrogant calling people out for being idiots then so be it.

I'm an outsider to this group. I don't find anything arrogant or offensive here. It's actually the opposite. I can relate to having to deal with idiots on the trail. I will always stop and help someone but I will also call them out for being unprepared to help themselves.

The dumb fucks aren't stupid but ignorant and just learning in my opinion. All of my best learning experiences have been from trying, failing, learning from my mistakes and trying again. Shit... that's how scientists do it so it can't be too stupid.

And yeah you're right i do like to rescue people. My wife makes fun of me because I'm always pulling over to try and help people along the side of the road. She always says "ugh you're such a Gryffindor, it's disgusting." But she's just saying that because she's a total Slytherin.

You mentioned subarus, did you see that guy in the outback on Sunday? I'm not going to lie, if i had one I'd lift it, put some mean ATs on it and go Fernando on some snow trails.

His did awesome on some fireroads, until he punctured one of the oem tires on a sharp rock lol

He then got methods and ko2's shortly before he traded it in for a taco ( @LTDSC :anonymous: )

I would love for my GF to trade in her accord for a suby, since hopefully soon we will be fleeing the restrictive state of California (trying to not be political?). Instead, she likes them fancy 4 runners :spending:

I agree. We were all newbies at some point. I think lately this thing don't share your spot or screw newbie kinda thing that is happening isn't very appealing. I thought the whole point of the forum like this was to meet new people and learn new things and to get out with people who enjoy the same hobbies.

Honestly, for me recovery is half of the fun of this whole offroading thing. When I go to Pismo, I am always driving around and helping people out just for fun.

Not to toot my horn but your wrong. I learned from others mistakes. Im no pro , Im a rookie. Yet I always impress myself and others. And yet I seem to be the one preaching half the time. I do get stuck but I no when to stop and recover not make things worse, I know how to listen to those helping me, not do the opposite. I know when to keep calm and when to let loose. I love to learn and live to play. Ask anyone who has been around me, I will help when and were I can. I have and will continue to do so. You may have misunderstood my sarcastic humor and trash talk. Sorry bro, Its the white trash ghetto boy as fuck in me.
But those assholes that show up in 6ft of snow in there prius and stock 3rd gens just to mention a few I saw this weekend. Can go to hell. they should experience a bad time and know they fucked up. Its the only way they will learn. Would i help them, Yes. Would I tell them there DAF most likely. I get it I was once there, when I first started driving, Sure . And was told in a very harsh and unforgettable way.

    NEVER WHEEL ALONE!
    NEVER GO UNPREPARED!
DON'T GO IN WHEEL SNOW WITHOUT A GOOD PLAN, AND WELL PREPARED!
A STOCK SUV ON STOCK TIRES CAN BARLEY MAKE TO THE SKI RESORT IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!
But most of these tards were older then me, and a few even there wifes were saying you should air down look at his tires.
We have seen pirus on MET in 3ft of snow.
    So yes Im bitter.
But its common sense not pro status.
All I'm saying Is don't be a dumb ass. because there is 100+ rigs to pull you out that your in no way friends with and you saw on facebook that its going to be epic.

All that said, I was in not way bashing Crush or Crash whatever his name is, Just trying to spread the word of >>>> KEEP YOUR SHIT PRIVATE AS LURKERS BE WATCHING!!!!! And with social media 100s will show up with ever thinking about being prepared.

time to have a drink and celebrate!!!
I passed my exam today so i get to keep my job.:burp:

Dude, I couldn't tell you how many times i suggested that people drop air pressures. I'm not sure why people are so hesitant to air down.

Josh works. And FWIW I didn't feel bashed, i figured it was just another grumpy old dude yelling at the kids to get off his damn lawn kinda thing..

Congrats, what was the test on?
