Couldn't wait. Awesome. New bulbs filled in a few spots and have awesome reach. Got flashed once. I think I'm good. I was coming around a corner when I got flashed and it was only once. Drove around a bunch. Real Happy. Thanks @crashnburn80 .

Glad you like them and can see a good improvement even though it is the brightest full supermoon of the year. The pattern cut offs will be identical to stock, watch where your cut offs hit other cars. If you’re truck is modified at all with suspension adjustments you may need to readjust your lights for proper alignment.

Quick question: when using the extension pieces that you notched, does the wire orientation matter? It's not a diode, so polarity shouldn't matter when it comes to the halogen bulb, correct?

Correct, polarity doesn’t matter for halogen.

They only clip in one way. Get it wrong and they don't lock.

True. I did notice that, but I only noticed on the factory harness to extension part. One way, the tab was in the middle of the clip with plenty of play (which I discovered the hard way); flip it around, and the tab is held tight by the clip edge. Hope that explanation makes sense, I didn't take pics when I installed it.

On the bulb to plug side, it seemed to fit either way since it clipped on the sides.

Why the need for the extra harness? If you trim the tab on the H9 bulb, doesn't the factory harness just clip right onto the bulb base?

Or is it an H9 male/female harness... and you're modding one end of the harness to accept the stock harness, thereby allowing you to simply plug it on to un-modded H9 bulbs?

    (I hope that makes sense)

Correct, modding the jumper harness is so you don’t need to trim the H9 bulb, making the whole setup plug and play. If you have a bulb go out you can pick up an H9 at any autoparts store, plug in and go without special tools or trimming required.

Headlight Services is looking into building a Tacoma 12 AWG H11->H9 harness making the H9 bulb upgrade plug and play at a higher output voltage than stock for even greater output. 12 AWG is technically larger than the connectors can allow. We'll see what he comes back with, but it sounds promising for the increased output plug and play conversion harness.

I just ordered a pair of the GE +130s for C$24.15 per bulb from Powerbulbs, which is not super terrible. I have been doing business with them for years, they are a pleasure to deal with.

I was going to order two pairs to have two on the shelf, but I still have an H9 in the glove compartment. I hope nobody discovers a better bulb than the GE +130s because I seem to be powerless to resist these type of upgrades. I sold the crappy diode dynamics LED bulbs I was using on the recommendation of the owner of the dealership, at a pretty big loss. Live and learn. Very grateful to crashburn80!

You think you’ve got the lighting bug bad? I kinda want to order a full set of the Hellas just to see, but we’re gaining 8 minutes of daylight a day and pretty soon I won’t need headlights at all for a few months! Here’s 730 am Friday morning, and it’s only getting brighter.

I sometimes cannot stand eBay. I bought German Philips H9 Vision +30 bulbs out of the UK, the Vision series H9s are pretty hard to come by, and this is what showed up.

    40E4DC59-48ED-454B-9A14-A13930313154.jpg

No boxes, no official packaging. Loose bulbs wrapped in padded packaging in an unmarked box. I’ll test them this evening to see if they are the real deal and can challenge the output of the Hellas (Osram Hypers) and GE Megalights, but I’m not even certain I got the Vision bulbs or the standard bulbs. Annoyed.

Ok, so which one performs the best; GE +130 or the Hella (H9)?

It is close and either one will be a great improvement, but I would go with the Hellas for a bit fuller pattern if you don’t mind modifying the bulb or buying/making the adapter harness. We’ll see if the Philips Vision H9s can do any better this evening.

Anyone know where to find the GE 130s in stock? Best I can find is a preorder on Powerbulbs...

So it looks like Phillips Vision H9 Bulbs have glare caps. I'm interested also. It's gonna be tough to dethrone the Hellas. They have a very full pattern.

That will be great if they would because if I remember correctly the H9 connector will fit both in H9 bulb and H 11 bulb.

eBay. European Amazon doesn’t ship those bulbs to the US.
    https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/282813182733

The Philips Vision H9s do not have a glare cap. Did you see some photo of this? You sure it wasn’t an H11?

It depends on the connector used, the H11s have a larger single tab designed so that an H11 will not fit on an H9 plug.

    H11 left vs H9 right
