i cant understand why people still buy tundras. they're too big, they sit to high, their options are weird, they cost way too much for what you get, and their fuel mileage is asinine.

now everybody knows I tease @Mobtown Offroad (<3) about that big red terd of a Ferd he bought, but i would buy it over a tundra tomorrow if i had to make that choice.

Happy hunting, let me know if i can help brother.

    This.

I looked at Tundra's prior to my F-150 purchase. They're equivalent in cab space and overall size. I had no intentions on taking it off road because I have my T4R for that so I was looking for 2wd. I literally could not find a single Tundra anywhere that was a crew max in 2wd, I am sure it is a regional thing and if I looked in Florida I could. Sure, the Tundra has more tow capacity but I didn't need to pull 10k lbs. My 2.7L Ecoboost pulls 7600lbs no problem and that is more than enough. I pull the T4R on a car trailer with no issues and that is the heaviest I will usually pull. I average 23mpg city/hwy driving in my Ford, Tundra is 15 on a good day from what I see on forums in the real world. I know the Tundra will have a better resale value but that doesn't really concern me. Also the price difference was pretty big too. To get a similar Trim Package between the two, it was a $9k difference in price...

Don't get me wrong, I love the Tundra but I think Toyota needs to get with the times and improve that old powertrain. But I know that is not the Toyota way, they pic reliability over technology and power.

Yeah, they’re out of their minds. $50k for a limited? 12-13mpg in mixed driving? 15hwy on a good day? Ridiculous.

Even the 4.7 in the 1st gen did better

We’re getting fucking pounded up here my dudes. We still had ice in the ground in many places from the last weather event. This is a mess.

I was. The man has been beating me down at work. Work load is insane. We're all walking on eggshells since they let our boss go. Seems we're still unsure how far that shit will roll downhill. Work sux to begin with but the past couple of weeks have been really sucky! So I'm trying to focus more and increase productivity as much as possible to get my numbers up.

    We'll see.

Definitely missed TW and Y'all, you :fistbump:

I wonder how much that drive shaft weighs and cost to make.

Its probably over in the gallons per mile category now, because thats the only direction you can go when you modify a tundra

Seems nice. Obviously from china as most are. It seems this comes with a remote control too. Can't wait to see how you do with it.

That looks like that is being built for tours. Obviously a canopy will ride up top and will likely have either a church pew type seating arrangement in the middle, back to back with a bar surface mounted to the bed rack sides, so people can sit and look out or it might have the same thing only benches mounted to the bed sides looking in. You might also fit a 3 across looking forward with a isle to get through but those would be tiny seats. I too would like to see that drive shaft! It has to be a beast.

well, anything new is off the table 100%, i just cant afford an 80k loan on a new truck. im just trying to make sure i have enough overhead, that once i load the truck full of stuff, i still have enough capacity left to pull the trailer. thats the issue im having with the tacoma, once i load the truck, im well over the rear axle rating with the trailer. the tundra i 100% know will have enough capacity , but the older fords only have a 7-8k rating to start with, so i dont want to get into the same situation i have now, just with a more expensive truck. and the newer fords with the higher tow ratings are out of my price range... plus i really dont like the body lines they have. and im not looking at the 3rd gen tundra either, im only looking at the 07-13 second gens. no reason to spend more money for what is basically the same truck. fuel mileage isnt a terrible concern, sine the tacoma got maybe 15 on a good day, im used to making twice a week gas station trips already.

All the tundras after 2007 are the same though. All they did was fake a new generation. Much like they did with the tacomas :anonymous:

    What about a diesel?

Also, I hope you know to stay away from tritons lol

yeah, i want nothing to do with the 5.4 motors. and while a diesel sounded like a good option, the 3/4 ton trucks are huge. now that yall mentioned it, i might take a second look at the 11-14 F150's, looks like ford decided to make the 5.0v8 a standard option, so i dont have to guess which v8 the truck has.

We've got a 2011 F150 as a shop truck. It's been cared for but used hard. 160K and still going with zero major issues. Transmission get's a little loose between 1st and 2nd but it's also never been serviced which is not a good thing. I'm by no means a ford fan but I will say this one has done us well.
