What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I got to get one of those grille's for my truck. Mine already has the black bezel.

 

Didn't you mention concerns about the size of the opening on the SR grille? Other than that issue, I really like the SR grille.

 

Yeah I worry about hitting a bird and it passing through the slats on the SR grille.

 

If you do end up getting a Pro grill, I wouldn't mind taking the black bezel off your hands.

 

I would not put a Pro Grille on my truck if you gave it to me. LOL! Wanting the Off-Road grille. And I would keep my black bezel. I have the black thing going on with my SR w/utility package.

 

Why dont you take off the bezel and paint it. cheap mod no?

Having done this on another car, I've found you end up chasing paint chips forever. The factory bezel is molded black.

 

I think it looks great, like having the tires out to the edge.

 

I put my meso-customs badge on my shell in rear, I think it gave me more room in the back!

 

yea i hear ya. ive done this to many cars in the past but its not like its a hard thing to remove and repaint. I didnt know the oem one was molded. that makes sense then

 

It’s been just over a month and a half since I purchased my truck and its getting difficult to space out the mods.

Next up is some vinyl to black out the wheels... if only colorado would warm up just a bit.

 

Real bummer man, sorry to hear and see. I've been in situations like that ( not in snow/ice ) with folks suddenly cutting you off to avoid an accident in front of them not realizing that they're creating a different one behind them. Show us another pic when she's all healed up!

I just changed to the Pro Heritage Grille, but if not that, I would have gone for the SR5 version since it's my second favorite. I just didn't like the one my Sport came with. And my wife instantly loved the pro grille when she saw it on!

I've considered buying an SR5 bezel, but once it warms up I am going to order vinyl and wrap the face with 3M black matrix. That way I can retain the original part and just have a new appearance. Just a thought for people that are considering a new part. I am also going to over-wrap the current black vinyl between the windows with 3M black matrix, and possibly the black plastic under the mirrors. I like little details that make my Taco more unique, but not overtly distinguishable. Also debating wrapping over the bed stickers with some kind of simple design... Photoshop first to see.
