Got a lead on a bed extender from a full size for dirt cheap, but its 4" too wide. Anyone shortened theirs using sleeves or something?

What type of bed extender is it ? You can adjust the width of the Toyota bed extender by more than four inches.

Its not adjustable. Ill have to figure out a way to make a strong butt joint, maybe internal sleeve or external clamp. Welding isn't an option.

Aries 4" Oval step tubes, Brute Force Fab rear bumper, Weathertech digifit floor liners.
I'd look at a sleeve to fit inside the tubes. It'll look better. You might be able to use PVC or steel pipe.

Just a thought: you might be able to get a muffler shop to expand some muffler piping to fit.
