I have used lower control arms to recover vehicles with absolutely no recovery points. Yes it works. But obviously don't go snatching it.

They also use a chain. the whole point of the video is to break the tow ball. After the first one broke they started cutting about half of the tow ball shaft so it would break easier

Probably need the main winch on the HEMTT wrecker, just to be safe. Make sure to use some snatch blocks tied off to an 88.

Not so much the reverse gear as much as your drivetrain (e.g. differentials) is not designed to take shock loads in reverse. The teeth are only machined for strength in one direction.

I don’t wheel. So no worries about that.

This is not an off road situation. Its a Corolla in the snow...

Except dont use the tie down point on the front drivers side. Use either the recovery hook on the front passenger side (pic from another member below) or just use the hitch pin in the receiver on the rear as others have said

exactly its a car that weighs maybe 1500kgs, in some snow. it should take a little nudge to get him unstuck. highly doubt any damage will be done to either vehicle.

GL OP . Be careful and let us know how you made out . If it's not buried to bad you should be fine . Try not to jerk it at first and see what happens .

Yeah I have, and its usually from improper use. they don't just "break" there rated for a reason and not meant to just fucking gun it from a stop. use a little sense and you usually don't run into issues.
