Where’s this mirage? I’m only familiar with bear creek and the one off of precinct line?

Brown Trail and Grapevine Highway. It's a small shop attached to the gas station on that intersection.

If you go, talk to William (owner who will definitely be there) and tell him Bryan Voskuil sent you that way :D.

Curious to see what you think about the RB 21. Me and my brother went in halves on a bottle and we both really like it. The Lustau is on my list, I saw you mentioned that you thought it wasnt as good as the 12 year? Im a fan of sherry cask drinks like Abelour. I was hoping the Lustau would have combined a couple of my favorites.

Had to laugh: The ABC did a single barrel for Weller 107 recently it seems, because it's been showing up in the last couple of weeks in various spots. I got one to try, and shelled out $65 for it. More than I should have paid, but what the hell, you only live once and it wasn't too crazy. I've seen three other bottles now and it's ranging from $99 to $299.99.

    Secondary market is just nuts...

I only had a small tasting glass of the lustau and I liked it but find the 12 to be smoother (probably due to lower alcohol content). I really liked the flavor of the Lustau though and could see myself drinking a full glass no issues.

Yep. A store pick/barrel select OWA 107 fetches crazy money on secondary (for what it is).

yes, it would be great if you could check and see if that's possible. there is a Total Wine in Denton but they don't have it, and i haven't seen anything at any of the Spec's including the main store on 75. i'll be in Dallas today so i'll keep looking. if i find it i'll make a mention here so you don't spin your wheels. thanks. :)

I may know where a Yamazaki 12 is if you’re interested... pretty sure it was ~$100 but don’t quote me on that.

Thx for the offer but I’m gonna drink it and make some poor mans pappy whenever I can find some 12yr. I refuse to pay secondary prices... at least right now. We’ll see how long I can hold out.

Good call on the Poor Man's Pappy. I won't cloud you judgement of OWA 107 or W12 before you try them, but I will say that the resulting blend is better than the sum of its parts, in my opinion. Plus, you can use this label for your bottle .

    Poor Man's Pappy.jpg

Maybe not that exact one, since it's got my business in the bottom, but I can make one with your name instead.

I had the 107 at Eastside in Denton and thought it was good. Been awhile though. I’ll will definitely want a PMP label!

May the bourbon gods align and send a W12 my way :fingerscrossed:

Had to break out a little Booker's 2018-04 Kitchen Table last night.
Got to watching me some Youtube on the Roku last night. Watched one video on best Bourbons of 2018.
And guess what made into the top 4 for 2018? Two of Mr Beams Booker's and two Buffalo Trace products.
My Kitchen Table only made it to #3. But boy was it good while I was watching it! I knew there was a reason I bought a second bottle.
