I-40 (both directions) closed west of Waynesville.
(ANOTHER) Rock slide closes I-40 for a week. Will be one lane after that for 6-8 weeks.

I guess the erroneous GPS information will be sending people to our place AGAIN. "NO, you cannot get through here!"

Last time this happened we had tractor trailers tear up the fences and property. Car drivers, same as trucks, said the GPS said we can get through. "You mean you thought that the 'No Outlet' sign was wrong?"

Couple mods down, many mods to go
Not to mention the land slide on 74 about 2-3 miles past the haywood/jackson line heading towards sylva. They have it cleared up a lot. Right lane is still shut down but ain't too bad.

This rockslide was Friday. Before the hard wind we had that came through.
We had power out all day yesterday for a power line pole that was broken. Broken Power Line Pole!!

    Hello,
I’ll be heading to Pigeon Forge from Eddys shop at Laurens SC late Monday morning. I read that I-40 is open now. Has anyone been to Hurricane Creek recently? Or Chestnut Mountain Rd? I’m still undecided between these 2. If I go to Hurricane I will just go to the 1st Creek and then back. I’m mainly looking for creek crossings. Dirt Devil looks real good as well but it’s 4 hours west of Pigeon Forge. Let me know if you’ve been out there recently.
    My truck is a ‘15 DCSB TRD O/R 4WD, 2” lift front/2.5” lift rear.
    Thank you

There is a rockslide west of TN/NC border. It closed for a while. Partially open a few days ago. One lane I read.

Was looking on maps and I can't figure out how to get to Hurricane Creek Rd. Any ideas?

Drive 40W til MM 8.5 (ish). There’s a guardrail on the right that ends, at the end of the guardrail is a dirt/gravel road. That’s Hurricane.

It’s sketch to get on especially with traffic on 40.. get in the shoulder well ahead of time and put on your blinker.

If you make it to the exit for Harmon den you’ve missed the gravel road.

I have not driven that since the rockslide, but the warnings say the right lane after MM 7 is closed for repair.

If it’s close from 7 towards TN you’re good. If it’s closed from 7 east, that could be problematic

There are houses back there that depend on that road so I bet it’s cleared

At Exit 20 heading West, the sign says right lane closed at Exit 7. It has said that since they opened for traffic.

They may require home owners get in from another direction.
