Well I’m assuming you mean between the new fj shroud or or the 09 4 runner shroud? Only difference I saw was the newer one has the backing plates with nuts installed already. The 09 runner shroud you have to install them yourself. Super easy though.

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
is what I meant, the fj just fits and the other you have to wrestle with.

would like to thank all the info posted on here. this is a great mod and the install is well 'flushed' out. heh

It was definitely a bitch to get in. I basically installed the fan and shroud then dropped the rad in. It’s a tight fit. Even with the transmission cooler lines going through the bottom.

if you had to do it again, what would you do differently? I'd image having the bumper and other bs out of the way would be ideal.

No the bumper and stuff it’s not in the way all. It wasn’t a hard install at all to be honest. It’s pretty straight forward. Only thing that gave me trouble was the URD thermostat upgrade. The way it sits in the supplied CNC adaptor plate, make it hard to hold when getting it in the water neck.

Yea man I knocked it out before summer time for that reason haha. Don’t be afraid of the cooler lines below the radiator. I bent them about a half inch or less. Have me about 1/4 inch maybe more clearance in all diractions from the shroud and radiator. And the thermostat again. Is a little trick. Grinding down the arms was not but. I don’t have a stud pulled so I went with the double but method to remove the studs and it worked out.

What are those grommets that I see your AC lines PSA through and electrical wiring? My truck doesn't have those. Just holes in the sheet metal

You went with the 2010+ shroud, vice the 16711-31200, and I was curious if you noticed any differences.

Again basically all I could see is the one you ordered had the anchor nuts built in. Mine I had to order them separately haha

Hey guys. So after 2 days of driving the truck. And it’s bled right. I hold a solid 186.8-190.4. Sounds great but I supposedly received the 160 thermostat I’m convinced they sent me the 170 now after comparing these temps to all you guys. Any input?

Info- I’m a 2015 trd sport 4x4 double cab with a leer topper. 285/75/16 st Maxx with f5. King lift and sos sliders. Not supercharged and I’m automatic.

Invoice said it’s a 160 degree thermostat. But based on my temps I can’t see that being possible? I honestly didn’t look st the thermostat before putting it in. And it was be a bummer to have to drain the coolant again just to verify.

I have the 170deg and the new radiator with the FJ shroud and I run 195-200 since install in November it looks like I am 100+ miles South of you I do have SC , lightbar behind grill, 4 Cadillac horns and hidden winch bumper which blocks plenty of airflow. Pre CSF I was running 195-208 so the true test will be this summer although last weekend it was 92F while I was down in S. FL and it never went above 200F. I know it not apples and oranges but it gives you a comparison in somewhat close ambient geography. My source for the coolant temp is my ultra gauge Bluetooth.

Thanks for the response man! Yea that only solidifies my assumption that they sent me a 170 thermostat. Unless my 160 is faulty. I’m jax it’s about 65 degrees now and I was at 188.6-190.4 that whole time even doing 86mph for about 25min.

All check seem good. Overflow resevoir remains at full. Coolant level in radiator is full. Coolant is clean. Engine oil is clean. So no chance of mixture. Ran heat cycle. Heater full blast for 10 min. And ac in full blast for 10min. So In my mind operational checks pass.

@Roostfactor , seems similar to when you had the 170.
