Thanks for the info my friend. I will be needing tires soon, want an all terrain tire that is fairly quiet.

Size-wise ; went to a 265/75/16 - same width as stock but 1" taller. It's a good fit w/out having to modify the suspension or body.

I ended up going with Cooper Discoverer ATS 4S 265/70R17 on the Graphite TRD Pro 17 x 7inch wide rims. Looked at the Michelins but just feel these will do better in snow and ice and still offer decent mileage, today the roads were covered in snow and glare ice they did extremely well drove about 100 km. I am very happy with how it turned out and have no rubbing ay all even at full turn, tires are not sticking out from wheel well either.

Nice looking tires, I just want a good A/T that is fairly quiet on the highway.

I just jumped on this deal. Took the Costco price to America’s tire (my usual shop) and they beat it by $20.

$724 out the door including install/warranty/lifetime balance and rotation (and swapping on my new 3rd gen OR wheels.)

I went from 265/70/17 dynapros to 265/70/16’s defenders because I couldn’t find any 75/16 in stock and even Michelin couldn’t tell me when they Would be produced again.

Looks great. Easily the most practical and best performing tire for 95% of owners.

I just got these last week and OOOMMMMGGGG! The ride is much better, super quite ride and smoother too. Previous tires were General Grabber AT2 with 40k miles. Sold my old tires to Discount tire and they also had a $70 mail-in rebate. I will be taking a 1500 miles in three weeks, i cannot wait!

Discount Tire has a $70 rebate (visa card) that comes around every 2 months or so. It seems to only last 10 days or so at a time. Just keep an eye on the web site.
One nice thing about DT, you can do the rebate on line. Nothing to mail in. Just enter your invoice number off the receipt.

I'm getting 18 - 18.5 city. About the same as the stock destination le2s. The 265-70-R16 Michelins are the same size as the stock tires but wider, so they weigh a few pounds more, but it hasn't seemed to have a noticeable effect on city MPG.
I haven't taken a highway trip yet, but I expect they may do better than the destination le2s. They supposedly have a tire compound with a lower resistance that improves gas mileage.

    edit: I have a V6/Auto 4X4 for comparison

I’m up about 1mpg over the 265/70/17 hankooks when I dropped to 265/70/16 defenders (and yes, that’s with 3% correction).

Driving through several winter storm advisory areas the last few weeks with the new Michelin’s has been eye opening. Incredibly stable and sure footed. They do fine on muddy FS roads as well (I’m not sure why I expected differently, my work truck Michelin’s took me everywhere).

Which should i get ---- LT265/70/17 or P265/70/17? Looking to replace the toyo open country AT (only 1k miles old) with Michelin Defender LTX M/S. It will be mainly highway driving for work only.
