2018 Tacoma SR A.C Noise?! Is It Normal?!?!

Is it normal for it to be so loud? Cant explain the sound but it sounds like it shuts on and off & i can hear it inside the cabin.

 

AC as in air conditioning, or Access Cab?

Oh wow yes it does the same and also that damn whistling noise lol did you find a fix for those issues? I also have an issue with a noise on the passenger side that sounds like static in the speaker area

The AC in my SR is barely audible in the cab.

 

its really noisy in mine. even the engine is noisy lol

 

I tried to get it addressed, but my dealer simply blew me off with the usual "it's normal" comment. Of course it's NOT normal, but I haven't had time to pursue the issue with Corporate. Once the weather starts heating up and the problem is in my face again, that will change. BTW, I've driven three rental Tacos over the past 6 months - two of them had 100% normal sounding A/C systems and one had the same Darth Vader breathing sound and the occasional high-pitched whistle. Also, one of the posters in my thread was lucky enough to have a responsive dealership, who ended up replacing his entire A/C system after finding out it had low lubricant levels. He says that it resolved his abnormal sound issue.

 

Mine has the occasional Darth Vader Exhaling sound but no high pitched whistles

 

same scenario with me. they told me it was normal. im gonna go again next time i get an oil change and im gonna ask them again & also about the static noise and see what they say. thank you

I have not had to use my a/c yet so don't know about any excessive noise. I'm just hoping it don't develop the cow manure stank like the '16 SR5 had that I traded off.
