So anyone going down to Bay Area fab this Saturday?

 

I’m gunna try to head down and kick it/help if I can. Depends on weather and if my GF gets mad that I hangout with my truck bros even though I don’t have a truck

 

I don’t have any plans. I’m tempted to go.

 

If anything it’s a free BBQ and better weather than here haha

 

I posted this in the Norcal thread and didnt even think about posting it in here.... If anyone is headed through Sac area and coming back to Reno within the next couple weeks and wouldn't mind picking up a bedside while in Sac Ill give you 50$ for your time. Mines pretty toast

Anyone know what they have for 3rd gens?

 

Does anyone have a spring compressor that I can use to swap 650 springs for 700 springs on my kings? Im hoping someone has like a wall mounted one as the ones im looking at on Amazon looks sketchy as all hell but I might have to order a set.

 

You don't need a spring compressor. Just have to back the preload off all the way and the coil comes out of tension. Remove bottom seat coil comes off, slide new coil in and install spring seat, add preload back to set new ride height

 

The new springs won’t fit without being compressed

 

I used the autozone rental spring compressor things. They sucked and were sketchy but got the job done.

 

Gotcha. Shouldn't be too much compression required then. Rentals would likely be sufficient.

Thought about McNeil 2" fiberglass bedsides? Then you wouldn't have to replace the fender flare as well. But you'd have to paint it

 

I have thought about it but I think it would complicate things with mounting my camper. Painting doesn't bother me as Im going to have to paint the new bedside as well, but the extra work involved with setting up the glass fenders to line up well doesn't really push me in that direction either. Still something to consider if I can't find a decent bedside for a decent price... New they are like 700$ unpainted. I have seen a couple in sacramento around 200$ with minor damage.
