My wife and I went to a place up there a few months back...I forget what it was called but it was off the main stretch where all the shops and restaurants are, near the Peppercorn grill. Was good food

Oh I hit up Big Bear at least twice a month lol, there's so many trails up and around there. Right now they're getting so much snow that most roads are closed going in and out, they're supposed to get 2+ feet tonight I hear. So probably won't go this weekend unless I can find a good route in that's open.

There's a trail called Burns Canyon that starts out near Yucca Valley near Joshua Tree and ends up in Big Bear, I did one similar to it (Heartbreak Ridge) a few weeks ago and it was a lot of fun. We should definitely plan one soon

With a stock as fuck non locker Pre-runner, the trails I'm willing to take on are....shall we say limited. Right now I'm only taking the WRX (since it has snow tires) up there. The truck isn't up for it.

Eventually when I do a locker, 4x4 conversion, and turbo the truck obviously up for a lot more (oh and not running crap-tastic highway tires).

2jz is the LS of the import world so that’s not surprising lol. But still pretty cool

Ah I didn't see you were 2wd...well Burns Canyon is supposed to be 2wd friendly but I highly doubt that it is this time of year, especially right now. But come spring/summer it should be doable. Plus there's Coxey Rd that takes you up into Big Bear via fire roads from the High Desert, is an easy trail except for now since its completely washed out

Yeah, no worries man. I had a locked 2nd gen a while ago and a 4x4 FJ and they were far more capable than my current truck (but plan on fixing that...eventually) but alas don't own them anymore.
