Revhang in modern engines is 100% software controlled. The engine is deliberately refusing to go sharply from "ignition" to "no ignition" because to do so would leave some hydrocarbons unburned and those hydrocarbons would contribute negatively to the vehicle's emissions. However, if you're interested in driving a manual for fun and sport, you don't care about the unburned fuel and the emissions implications. You just want all combustion to halt once you push the clutch in and let off the gas.

It's all software. There's no stored "tension."

A Toyota engineer put in the revhang to "fix" emissions. Hopefully, OVtune will be able to take it out!

And 1st is too damn low. It's more like a granny gear. From a dead stop I'm almost immediately shifting into 2nd before even clearing an intersection.

I don't really mind 1st being that low, but 2nd should maybe get a ratio that's a bit closer to it.
    Dunno.
    Reverse still sucks lol.

Why are we not talking more about this?! I’m glad I’m not the only one that’s noticed this. Just on startup the shifter shakes quite a bit.

Yea I've noticed some clunk in different gears, depending on rpm and uphill downhill. My biggest issue is the clutch all together, I'm at 13k on my 18 and already ready to swap it.. which I plan to after this pcs next summer.
