Yes. I think that's it, more than anything.
The guy up the street just got a new one.
And I'm really noticing them now, all gens. Lots of them.

Similarly, with all the rust threads (and the fact mine has a new frame), I'm seeing rust everywhere.
Not to pick on anyone (Eh, what the Hell)... I see Rams.
Bottoms of the doors rusted badly. I see them all over, and not very old ones either. :p
But plenty of rusty Fords and GMs as well.

Funny thing, guys in Tacomas sometimes give me a thumbs up and I've started doing it too.
I'm used to other motorcyclists giving me the inverted Vee, i.e. keep the rubber on the road.
So I do that as well when riding my motorcycle.
I guess Jeep folks do something similar?

Anyway, it's a cool club.

I think maybe because Toyota trucks are the only true battle wagon tested tough platforms that have been on TV news for years on both sides.....and it's true, they are just plain durable.

There are 4 third gens on my block, mine was the first.

There are at least 10 third gens at my office parking lot.

I kinda miss the days when they were less popular. When it was more of a niche community. I didn't see as many of them on the road when I bought my 08 in 2007.

I'm coming from a long line of sports cars, motorcycles too, as many of us are.

This is a different kind of fun.

I don't always drive pickups, but when I do I prefer The Cult Of The Taco.

I stopped doing that after I did it to a white 2nd gen here in town. He followed me to the grocery store and got out to ask me what the hell my problem was.
Turns out through my dark windows, he thought that I flipped him off.

We had a good laugh about it though.

I just went to Texas for the first time this past weekend and I noticed there are very few Taco’s in and around Dallas... plenty of Tundras though. I guess Texans only want full size trucks.

It's hard to beat the quality, reliability and resale value of Tacomas. Not to mention, they're the best looking truck IMO.

The Tacoma, specifically, nailed the perfect balance of form and function for a majority audience.

I love the Jeep wave.. around here in Austin area, jeepers wave to each other. So far the only Taco wave I got was from my neighbor who also got an OR 4x4. We need to do the wave instead of thumbs up as that might be misconstrued and lead to hostility especially in Texas where most everyone has dark tint.

Wave - 5 fingers are safer than 1 finger :)

Too many Tacos to wave at them all, I save the waves for my fellow Inferno Redders - most of whom don't acknowledge or look confused.

Us Taco World'ers are probably 1%'ers.

Personally I think when the whole pickup truck lifestyle vehicle fad ends, the resale value will take a hit.

Since I never plan on selling my truck I am not concerned.

    Just my $.02

In chart form, it really illustrates the jump as soon as the technology increased. For anyone wanting less technology in new vehicles, that's not happening.

There are tons of Tacos in the DFW area....think there are more than Tundras. The Tundra is just bigger and blocks the tacos.....
