I posted this in General Automotive, but thought it would get more replies here.

I've been using this one a few years, it's supposed to hold the air pressure till you press the button, but it's been hit or miss lately.

I'd like to get a nice one, would rather not have a digital one. Would also like one that locks on the valve stem.

    Suggestions?

    I have a Blue-point, division of Snap-on. It's about 30yo now.

Another vote for Longacre. Had one for 10 years, never missed a beat.

I worked at Snap-On for many years. Blue Point means "Made in China". Not saying tool is junk, but bottom of SO line.

Damn. 100 bucks for a tire pressure gauge? OP did request suggestions for a nice one though.
For the rest of us :) ... (translation - us cheap guys)
I got this - Milton (S-920) Pencil Tire Pressure Gauge - 6 bucks at Amazon. It's cheap but it does the trick.

I ride motorcycles so accurate tire pressure is important to me. I bought a higher-end, 0-100psi dial only ($25-ish) and just replaced the original crap one on a $15 dollar gun. Works great.

I have 2 similar ones (S921) and they both give different readings, about 5-8 psi difference. I honestly think both are not accurate because it also doesnt match the on-board reading of my Taco and my wifes NX. I was hoping since it was made in the US, it would have been better then the China ones out there.

There's probably a way to calibrate the gauges, then. I'd sure be looking for a way!

If you plan to air down your tires, I'd be nice to have a chuck that will lock on, just sayin.

That's what I said I wanted in my original post...non digital, that can lock on.

The one I have has a lifetime warranty, contacted them by email asking for a rebuild kit, and they sent me a PDF on how to clean it...WTF?

I can send it and a check for $4.00 to them and they will fix or replace it. Might be my best bet.

I use tpms to monitor, and have a kit to lower pressure by pulling valve stem that includes a gauge, about $35. My compressor fill has a gauge for when I air back up.

I bought this one maybe 3 years ago. It's supposedly not affected by temperature, humidity, outside air pressure, altitude. The bleeder valve started leaking air after about 2 years.

I replaced it with this one. I like it better so far, easier to read, easier to use, lifetime warranty. We'll see what happens.
