    Hello,

I just got my truck and I got the dealer alarm. Its a guardian G1. I'm trying to figure out how to turn off the 2 horn honks every time I lock it. Its really annoying especially since I come home late at night often.

Anyone know about this alarm. So far I've searched and only found references to other types of alarms that are different to program.

    Thanks

    *Update*
I found the installation instructions. Just in case anyone ever searches and needs this here's some info:
The alarm is a Guardian CPL 100. This was the alarm installed at the dealer (Power Toyota in Cerritos, CA). The website for this alarm company is http://techservices.codesystems.com

To program the alarm do this:
    1. Turn ignition on
    2. Press and hold override button
    3. Within 10 sec the system will chirp 3 times
    4. Press override button again, 4 chirps should be heard indicating its in programming mode
    5. Now get your keys and each time you press the red panic button it takes you to a different programming option
    6. Pressing the panic button 7 times brings you to the Chirps option. You should hear 7 chirps and the override LED should flash once indicating its in the default state for the chirp option (ON)
    7. To turn chirps OFF you must press the remotes LOCK button. The override LED should flash 2 to indicate that chirps are OFF now
    8. Exit programming mode by turning ignition OFF

many alarms default is hitting both lock and unlock to change to silent arm/disarm.

if that doesn't work Hold the arm button down.. and sometimes that also works.

I also looked up gaurdian and found nothing... not even a home page for a company called gaurdian that does auto alarms.

It was installed/activated at dealership when I bought the truck. But its not the VIP RS model I'm pretty sure.

The key fob is black with toyota symbol on back. It has three buttons, two large lock/unlock and the small red panic/hold button.

There is a led light and switch mounted under the dash too that I'm sure is part of alarm.

Hi...any clue if the system will automatically lock the doors after starting or when put into drive? If each press on the red panic button it takes you to a different programming option, what are those options? I've tried your link but can't find anything. Thanks.

I have the same Guardian CPL 100 system on my 2009 Camry from Power Toyota Cerritos. The back of the keyless entry transmitter says "CPL-100TX" and "FCC ID: H5OT21".

The best way to find support for this system is to call the manufacturer Code Systems at 800.421.3209 (number engraved on transmitter) and you will get a service representative who can send you the instructions you need. You can also email them at support@codesystems.com. Their website is not fully functional at the time of this posting.

When I called them I asked them to send me the "programming feature bank options" and they ended up sending me the "CPL 100 Installation Instructions" Manual which I attached.

The instructions that Bobby gave are correct for turning off the chirps (option 7). The other programming functions are (with options in parenthesis):

    1. Security Function (On, Off)
    2. Passive Locks (Passive, Active)
    3. Silent Choice (On, Off)
    4. Passive/Active Arming (Passive, Active)
    5. Siren/Horn (Siren, Horn)
    6. Door Trigger Delay (Instant, 30 sec.)
    7. Chirps (On, Off)
    8. Extended Locks (0.9 sec, 3 sec, Dbl Pulse U/L)
    9. Ignition Controlled Locks (On, Off)
    10. Tan Wire Output (Trunk, 2nd Unlock, Illum. Entry, ITS Function)
    11. Unlock Switch Sense (NEG, POS)
    12. Horn Output Timing (16mS, 40mS, 72mS)
    13. 2nd Step Unlock (On, Off)

I'm not sure what some of these mean, but the Code Systems representative should be able to help.

ok problem, I have an aftermarket siren, I want to use that instead of the horn, anyone know how to hook that one up? I hooked it up to the blck/brn wire and nothing. It worked for my horn.

The "override button" is located on the backside of the component with the red flashing light. In my instance, this was mounted below the dash underneath the steering wheel. If you feel behind the light, you will notice the button you can press in. Hope that helps.

I know this is a old thread but previously I was able to turn off the horn with these instructions. I just replaced my trucks battery and now the alarm auto arms itself and I tried re-programming but it wont go into programming mode. Any ideas? Thanks

    bttt..

Truck was originally from Longo Toyota, El Monte. Purchased used a few years back.

I also noticed the led does not flash when armed.

Either solid led when armed or led off.

Not completely sure why it "won't go into programming mode" but I would troubleshoot by trying options in the Manual attached earlier in this thread:

(#1 - Toggle Selections in Programming Bank)
Double check that you can't enter into Programming Bank 2 (4 chirps) at all using the specific instructions from the Manual. If you can, try toggling each Selection in the Programming Bank using your best judgment to see if you get the desired results (even the manual doesn't describe the possible selections very well).

    (#2- Default the Programming Bank)
Try Defaulting the Features in Programming Bank 2
    1. Turn the ignition ON.
    2. Press and hold the override button.
    3. Within 10 seconds the system will chirp (3) three times.
    4. Press the programming button on the module, the system will chirp (4) four times indicating the features have been defaulted and is now in feature programming bank 2.
....Perhaps this will clear the system and then you can go back and change the specific features you want again (like Chirp Off).

    (#3 - Contact Manufacturer Support)
Perhaps your Unit got switched from "Consumer Mode" to "Lot Mode" in which case an "ACM keypad" is needed. Seemingly this would require professional assistance... but before that I would try calling the manufacturer Code Systems at 800.421.3209 to see if a service representative can assist you. You can also email them at support@codesystems.com.

Hopefully, that pushes you in the right direction.
