That is a damn shame. There are plenty of great foster-gun parents out there that would love to offer these a good home.

To give Benchmade the benefit of the doubt. They are probably just helping to destroy guns people handed over to the police and I'm sure not meant as a political statement. Especially seeing whom their primary customer base is. Anyway, those memes are almost always taken out of context and used to provoke people.

Fun fact, Oregon is currently trying to legalize mushrooms.

They seem to have righted ship, they made a crap ton of sales last summer (or maybe it was summer of ‘17) with a buy one get one promo that they are still trying to fill backlog on.
Personally I like their company but wouldn’t buy most of their products, granted I’ve never heard their products used but they seem long and heavy compared to many other options on the market, particularly their rifle cans.

From the information that MAC put on Instagram it was court ordered destruction of firearms used in crimes.

I’m a little on the fence about it still as people have posted links to alleged “anti gun” behavior they have exhibited in the past, but I haven’t read the links because I’m too poor to buy a Benchmade anyway.

Shrug. I've got no problem with it; the police department is going to destroy them anyway, whether because they were used in a crime or they were turned in by the general public. So Benchmade doing it vs Joe's Scrap Metal doing it makes no difference either way. :notsure:

I see absolutely nothing wrong with them assisting the PD in destroying weapons that were either used in crimes or had serial numbers that were tampered with.

Botching about that is the same as bitching about CBP not auctioning off or parting out vehicles seized that were used to transport narcotics across the border. Those vehicles cannot be guaranteed safe after that point and neither can the firearms (safe being used as metaphorical and literal for the firearms)

I find it funny how pissy people got about it. While I wouldn’t personally give a rats ass about buying a potential murder/ag assault/robbery weapon, I can completely understand why they destroy them. If there was a firearm that was used to murder your wife/gf/momma, would you want that thing resold back into the public market?

Anyway, BM has always been way too expensive of a knife for me. I respect them as a company but I’ll carry my SOG until it breaks or I lose it and buy a new one. I’ve always said if I kept up with a pocketknife for a year I’d splurge and buy a BM. Maybe one day that’ll happen

They auction them here. Nothing wrong with that IMO. Seems wasteful to destroy.

PDs take in so many guns every year...and many are destroyed and many are auctioned

There are certain reasons that make it where a PD can no longer auction the guns...obliterated serial numbers, illegal machine guns and short barrel stuff, etc

BM has probably done this for years and meh...non issue except for the SJWs online

Those Kimber Micro 9s look awesome. I'd loose the mag extension I see on them though. Never understood getting a pocket sized pistol and then using an extended mag. Need to keep them small or get a full sized. Use an extended as your second mag I guess.

With all my "Pocket pistols", I use a flush mag as primary, extended as secondary mag......

I think its wasteful myself. If the weapon was used to kill someone I can see why the family wouldnt personally want that particular weapon. Just like the gun turn in's to help reduce crime...typically the people turning them in arent doing crimes to begin with so its really only throwing money away their money. Just like gun free zones reducing crime...only the non-criminals are going to abide by the laws anyhow..

Yea but in today’s day and age, if the PD sells a particular rifle at auction that happens to have some flaw and that results in someone getting injured.. can you imagine the uproar and subsequent lawsuits that would follow? I think most of the time it’s a “let’s play it safe” risk management decision because everyone is quick to point the finger or place blame on anyone other than themselves

There’s a reef somewhere off the coast of SC made of nothing but guns.

There's an island in the South Pacific with one made of sunken Japanese ships and planes, too.

There is a definitive difference between people that value liberty and SJW's, though I wouldn't expect most Fudd's to recognize that.

It's not like they are destroing CMPs inventory of 1911s and Garands.

All Benchmade has to do is come out with a statement saying they were helping the police with their stock of non functioning and unsaleable firearms and that they smelted down the steel and is now using it for a limited release of knives.

The mall ninjas will pay thousands.
