Yeah it's mostly double cab room that I'd be looking at, way bigger than a 1st gen access cab lol. I'd consider a 1st gen double first if not for the fact that they didn't come with a manual, so itd have to be a 2nd gen

 

It's a paint. Either way, I try not to do either in the garage, makes a fuckin mess and I always get light headed despite the respirator and open garage door.

 

The auto in the 2nd gen is very competent, but it is pretty boring. It's a lot better than a 1st gen auto though

 

"My" vehicle will always have a manual as long as I can help it...but I've given into the fact that when we get a family car it'll have to be an auto

 

The srt8 Durango and the track hawk is a auto

 

These things are in a different category, in the same vein I could say so is a Subaru Justy and Toyota Yaris.

 

They really that much more? I know they're harder to find generally but I didn't remember seeing much of a used price difference in them when I was looking

 

They keep me in business so I don't mind them.

 

In the second gen they're more near a 1-2k difference used. But in California that's probably closer to a 2-4k difference. The biggest annoyance is that the DCLB is auto only, so if you want a manual you get an ACLB or DCSB and the SB is just useless. Might as well just buy a 4Runner and have a nicer interior and tow a little HF trailer.

 

I fully accept that autos these days are technically better in virtually every category than manuals but they'll never be as or more enjoyable to me.

 

Do you even have a vehicle to put them in?

You know, you mentioned the doorbell thing and it would theoretically work since doorbells run off 12v.

But there's no way that 22GA low voltage wire on the doorbell would handle all that amperage.

 

No we hardly got any rain here in Pasadena, but the foothills around us got some snow last night and apparently Thousand Oaks got an inch of snow lol. It's the end times

 

The auto in my Exploder was incompetent and broke at 190k so I'll agree.

 

DC's are still Auto to this day?

 

Doorbells are typically 16-24v and the standard just includes 12v because the oldest installations will still be 12v.

DCLB is all auto, DCSB can be had with a manual but then you have a little shorty bed that really isn't all that useful
