Howd you get the “performance tune” for a MANUAL? LoL thats an auto only tune.

Easiest way is just select the folder as the exception. Anything and everything within it will be left alone

 

Performance FOB is the official name of our FO map

 

??? will have to create that exception. will be downloading other tunes this weekend. Same true for .exe files that go to the designated folder?

I'm saying make the umbrella folder the exception. For example, create a folder on your desktop called OVTune or BrazilianBubbleButtSloots or 1987 Taxes or whatever else. Dump all your files in that, however organized or unorganized as you want. Within the windows security and virus updates section or whatever, you can manage and then create an exception. Make your BrazilianBubbleButtSloots umbrella folder the exception. Everything within it, current files and those you add in the future, will be exempted from Defender's purge

 

What I do is take it a step further and I also have the OVT apps install to the folder, so that anything else remains within the exception, OR I add another exception for the directory where it installs if it's outside the original folder

btw the service records you enter are tied to your account and only for your personal records. They don’t transfer to the dealer or a new owner if you sell your truck.

When I open P5Flash, it shows the reg ID and my name right next to it.

 

As a buyer of a used 2016 I "inherited" the service record details but they were only records performed by toyota dealerships. I do not know even the original owner ever registered the VIN on the owners portal or if they ever did but never logged anything personally. I just know I have all the dealership data and I am owner #2.

 

Correct. You get dealer records tied to the vin. You don’t get owner records tied to the vin.

Is anyone doing this Tune and re-Gearing? I’m getting ready to do some upgrades and starting to try and figure out what way to go. I understand that they have different applications, but it seems like both make the Truck run “smoother” or “more predictably.”
Doing my research before I pull the trigger on anything, but obviously want to avoid redundancies and when dropping this kind of cash, I wanna make sure it’s the correct mod for my wants. Thanks for the opinions, and please correct me of my ignorance!

 

1.05 91 Performance is as much of an improvement all around over the last version of 1.05 as that version was over stock. The difference in performance and linearity has to be felt to be believed. Agree with some that a Performance version with a somewhat relaxed throttle tip in would be nice in low speed city or stop and go driving, though.

 

If you have any complaints about how your truck shifts,accelerates or lack of power on the bottom end,the tune is for you. There is nothing redundant about the tune + gears. Having the tune as a base that addresses the drive-ability issues will enhance the benefits that gears provide,especially on heavier trucks with larger tires.
