I've tried about everything and can't get my MP3's to play in order.

Tried adding 01, 02... before the title, and that didn't work.

Tried adding 01-, 02-...before the title and that didn't work.

    Whats Up! :help:

I wouldn't worry about the file names, but make sure the MP3 metadata is all correct. Use a program like Mp3Tag to fill in all of the missing information.
    https://www.mp3tag.de/en/

Here I have random file names, but the MP3 metadata is correct, so the system plays them in the correct order. The # is the track number:

I downloaded that prog...my MP3's were a shit show. Went thru each one I wanted on the flash drive and I'm guessing I fixed them all.

Put them on a newish 16 gig SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0

Just tried them and it's still fucked, checked and random is not turned on, didn't see a shuffle option.

I was thinking about this just a while ago.

    Now, for a puzzling one.
The Toyota Entune system seems to have a memory. It seems to remember the last file played, as well as the contents of (at least some of) the flash drive(s) that were inserted. The last one is a nice feature, since it reduces the time required to read the contents of the flash drive, if you removed/reinserted it.

The problem: If you changed the ID3 tags in the removed/reinserted drive, the Entune system may NOT recognize all the changes, and may classify some of the files under the previous Title / Album name.

My bikes stereo also will play off a flash drive. I had around 400 songs on one I've kept in it since I bought it. A few months ago I formatted it, and only had about 60 songs on it. It was weird because when I started it up the songs I'd deleted would still play. These systems have a memory and will even play songs that's not on the drive.

It didn't last long at all thou before the bike figured it out.

I'm gonna try it a couple days, if it's still messed up I'll change all the damn album names and try that.

    Thanks!

For me, I took all my CDs and ripped them to my computer hard drive Music folder using windows media player. I also did a lookup for the ID3 tag info using same.
Then I just copied all the folders in My Music to the flash drive.
It took a while to rip everything but now I have about 250 CDs always ready to go in the truck.

Now, whenever I add new music to the flash drive, next time I select it as input, I just browse the drive. It will re-index.

Do you put them in seperate folders for each album? This is the easiest that I’ve found.

Also, I think Entune has a 9999 file limit so at 320k bit rate (which is higher than most 120-160) per mp3 I’ve figured a 128GB usb drive will fit up to 9999 songs. But, I’m guessing, only have a 64GB in now.

I just put 34 of my all time favorite songs on a tiny 16 gig drive...no folders at all.

When I had around 400 songs on my bike, I found I'd always fast forward thru most of them to get to my favorites.

They change about every month thou.

I tried everything, and finally got them to play in order by removing everything about the MP3.

Now instead of showing the artist and a pic of the album cover it just shows the track number.

This infotainment system is so lame. I hate that it can't play MP3 via folders. My wife's 10' lexus does it. I just use my iphone to stream music now

Well that sucks... so much editing, eh? I have a folder for each artist, and then subfolders for each of their album names. Maybe the system was getting confused because you group everything together?
