Its not too bad if u can set aside like a whole weekend, i just do all my work after work but i dont usually get home till late.

I drove around with just the aluminum crash bar for a week untill my buddys dad (cop) told me it was illegal lol
So now my bumpers just on by 3 push darts, a bolt and a zip tie

It’s illegal? I drove around with my valence off and crash bar exposed for about 2 months, got pulled over (exhaust) and not a word about it being illegal. Weird.

I really don’t think that plastic valence would do anything to help. Probably would just get crunched up and cost my insurance company $100 to replace. Laws are stupid.

They are supposed to help reduce costs of low speed crashes. Both vehicles just crunch the bumpers and less other damage.

I get that but I still seriously doubt it would help anything. Doesn’t matter anymore, I have a big ass damage multiplier on the truck now

Thanks man! I’ve always seen stingers on jeeps and hated them, I had a little baby one on my old Jeep and I wasn’t that fond...

I think the stinger suits my truck way better, I love it. And it’ll be great for up in Thunder Bay if I’m unfortunate enough to find myself truck to face with a poor animal...

That one was basically just a light bar mount. That Jeep was a total mall crawler, bought not built. I had it for pretty much a summer, blew the head gasket beating the everloving fuck out of it, then sold it for $500 less than I bought it for as is. I think I got a good $500 out of it, miss her tho.

Yeah apparently. And some shit about insurance too. He told me i might get away driving around without it but its better to be safe than sorry

Looks kinda wild with just the crash bar so i figured i wouldnt push my luck. It only takes an extra 5 min before n after working on it so im not too bothered

Yah that looks mean, that crash bar is huge, mine was half the size and stamped steel I think.

I love the look of second gens, if I had to re purchase a truck that wasn’t a 1st gen, I’d get an early year 2nd gen single cab. Or a 85 solid axle lol... but that’s another can of worms. Either way I’d chop both of them up :welder:

You and I think alike. Flatbed and sas when I’m done school. Even if I have a new DD down the road I’m gonna try to keep this truck as a project.

For best results you don't want to have them sand blasted. Try and opt for glass bead. Alot less aggressive in the profile. Won't take near as much primer and labour. I did my wheels that way. I have about 6 hours labour doing 4 wheels but I 2 toned them black and silver. I will try and get some pics up today. If you can wait for a while ,I will let you know when we have our glass beads booth running. Probably won't be for a few months. But you and I can do them in the spring and it will cost you the materials. My labour is free to members on here.

20190204_130619.jpg try and zoom in on the wheels to see the 2 tone. Camera on my phone isnt the best and let's face it.... I'm an old guy trying to figure out new technology. This is probably as good as it gets lmao

I can see the two tone and it looks much better than my two tone missing paint. I’ve never heard about glass beading but I assume it’s similar to sandblasting just with glass fines . I can wait for a while and I would love to do some glass beading with you, I’ll do what I can with the labour and I’ll cover materials cost. I really appreciate the offer, what does your shop specialize in?
