Mat totally fixed the non-adaptive cruise control. I use it all the time now. Its changed the biggest hassle of living in central texas, the 6-8 hour drive to get to public lands, mountains, and other such places to explore.

Seriously @OVTune cant thank you enough for your efforts for our trucks!

I've never used the app... just toyota.com/owners

Set up an account with your VIN and you'll see all dealer-performed maintenance / recalls with the option to add in your own maintenance... like stuff I fixed the dealer SHOULD have.. :)

Use the standard cruise instead of the adaptive to get the benefits for the tune.

I've stopped using adaptive cruise altogether. Regular cruise control maintains all the benefits of OVtune, and I have 20+ years of normal cruise control experience to rely on.

Nice! I’ll try the regular cruise.
I’m on the road a bunch and honestly... I hate to say this.... that’s the main reason why I looked at the Tacoma’s was for the adaptive cruise...
I’m a diesel mechanic and most of our trucks now have the adaptive cruise and I like the feature. Forgot they’re all manual transmission, didn’t even think about that when I bought the truck.
    Anyways. I digress.
Not in sport mode. Just D. Non ECT. I’m still on my first tank of fuel. Plan on at least running 3 tanks before I try either performance or doing D with ECT button on.

Did I miss that there's an option for ECT defaulting to ON?

I totally agree on the non-adaptive cruise. For driving in the WV/PA mountains, Mat's version of cruise actually works better than my foot does for avoiding extreme downshifts on the uphills. It downshifts just enough to maintain speed and immediately shifts back up as the grade decreases.

We aren't planning on offering it. MesoJDM ECT mod works much better, since doing it through the ECU does not illuminate the ECT light.

BTW, is it just placebo effect, or does the new base 87 drive way better than the previous base version?

On the previous 1.05 base, I started out running the 93 octane version. That was fabulous - smooth, powerful, and predictable - but gas was too expensive (premium around here typically costs $1.20 per gallon more than 87), so I switched to the 87 tune. I expected to lose some power, but I did not expect how unrefined it felt. I figured the transmission smoothness at least would carry over, but it felt more like 1.04 where the drivetrain lash was crazy noticeable. Never did settle in. When I flashed the new 87 base yesterday, it was an immediate improvement, even before the tune settled in. Nice and smooth, no more feeling like I was in a manual when going from decel to accel.

In the event I tune with the new flash manager but decide I want to go back to 1.04r is it possible to use the tune file I already have for it? Or does it need to be downloaded from the new flash manager?

Agree with this 100% Before the tune I wouldn't even bother with cruise control. Now I use it all the time.

This is good to hear. I didn't even think of how this would change the CC. Which tune are you running? I am interested to see how this tune helps CC perform in the tx hill country.

Is anyone having trouble downloading the base tunes? I have 87 Performance right now and want to switch to 87 Base, but all of the Base tunes on my Flash Manager say error when downloading.
