I'm a lifetime 4-cycle sprint guy. Ran Gold Cup with WKA for a long time with alcohol animals and now I run Cup Karts North America and some street races here and there with the LO206 package. It's super cost effective racing... <$1000 a weekend with fuel, hotel, tires, entries, etc.

Give Ken Ragan (david's dad) a call over at AMS. I've got a buddy who went over there last weekend and turned laps on the infield with Trevor Bayne's old Legends car that Ken bought off him.

One more thing, thank you folks for the best UNCENSORED and snow flake free NASCAR page on the internet... Rowdy nation is censored and PG, Decker nation is full of no life creeps, and redditt is full of little kid snowflakes that downvote real race fans and send them all hate mail.... So thanks again for being the real true blue uncensored NASCAR fans you all are

Reddit is a strange corner of NASCAR fandom. Their firsthand scope of the sport doesn't reach beyond the COT and they think the halcyon days were 2002-2008. I'm generalizing here but, like, most of them are so young and think they're fresh takes are the right takes because they're not Old School Fans. And the guys who make videos (Black Flags Matter, The Iceberg, NRF, and several others) are bad bad journalism.

And like, I don't want to discourage them from digging into the history of the sport. I'm thankful they're interested. They're the ones who will carry the sport for the next 15-20 years, but at the same time, they shouldn't be handled with kid gloves. It's been proven that revisionist historians do not serve the greater good. When they make these videos, it's super cringy when they mix up easily accessive stats, facts, and word pronunciations.

    UNPOPULAR OPINION:

Teresa Earnhardt is not a "Witch." She brought Dale Sr. nearly 20 years of happy marriage and companionship, was his business partner in his personal ventures, and raised their daughter to be a decent human. When Dale died, she tried to carry on his multiple businesses and continue raising their child, all while mourning the death of her husband. Her only true mistake was hiring opportunist and unethical big spender Max Siegal to run DEI, which he did, and he ran it into the ground, not Teresa.

I agree with Nascar needs to stay with v8's. But unfortunately, the next gen cup car will be a v6.

I think we're witnessing something similar to what was happening in the early '80s with the shift from long wheelbase cars to the shorter wheelbase, and from big blocks to small blocks. Coincidentally, NASCAR hit a huge boom during that era. I think Cup needs to at least reduce to a 4 to 5 liter mandate and let the manufacturers decide if they want to run a V6 or V8. Toyota has a 4.0 V6 and V8. Ford has the 4.6 and 5.0. Chevy has the 4.8. They've GOT to open up the rules to allow for some development.

Spec V8s perhaps? Then you still get the loud signature sound
