Trying to figure out best spot for addtional usb ports?

So i have a 2015 DCSB and i have been wanting to add an additional set of usb ports because my factory one doesnt work, where i have an aftermarket radio in it, and i generally need two all the time anyways for me and my wifes phone.

So for those who have installed them, where does the best place seem to be for it? What seems to have worked the best for you?

 

Just installed a pair from Amazon. Search for the Cllena dual Toyota 3.0 and 2.4A USB quick charger. They fit the blanks near the original USB port perfectly...you'll just need to grab power somewhere and run a ground. I used an add-a-fuse in the dash fuse panel. Very happy with the results.

Do you happen to have a link or something to these? I tried to find those and ordered one that didnt fit, but it fet in the blank to the left where the foglight switch and stuff is.

I took a different approach. I added a dual USB port that I hardwired and I hid it under the center console.

I have my charge cables plugged into it and ran out to each seat from under the console. The cables sit tucked between the seat and console when not in use. Easily accessed when needed. 100% hidden when not.

I also have a cable hardwired into the glove box that reaches to my phone mount. Easily tucked away into the glove box when not in use.

I hate having cables laying everywhere when not being used so this was my solution to keep things neat. I know I could just unplug them when not using but I don’t have any unused spots on the dashboard to put any additional switches

 

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the switch labeled "Driving Lights" in your dash? Is that a Toyota OEM switch?

The problem I saw with the Amazon USB pass through ones, was people complaining about having issues connecting to their stereo, or quality being total crap. It stems from the unshielded tiny wires found in the stuff. So this solved that issue.

250 dollars for a USB Port to connect to the head unit? My lord that is insane.

There are thousands of panel mounted USB connections that are clean look good and are way less than 50 bucks.

I would hate any of these with extra bright blue and orange lights on my dash that 1. didnt match the other stock lights and 2. were bright and couldnt be dimmed with the rest of the dash. For this reason I put 2 usb ports in my center console on an always hot circuit that i switched in the console. Out of the way when not needed, and able to be turned off when not needed. I can charge a phone / device within the center console out of the sight of thieves with the truck off, or when cruising down the road i can run cables out from the gap of the lid and center console either forward to the front seats or to the rear seats.
