Take a look at the tread pattern on the General Grabbers and the BFG's, they are rather similar.

I had a set of BFG's and my dad ran through a few sets on his vehicles. He has General grabbers on both of his rigs now and i have a set on my other truck. The taco will get the grabbers when the factory tires turn to slicks.

I'm running this exact tire now and like it. Tire Rack quotes it as 47lbs but a C Range Duratrac in the same size is quoted as 40lbs. That will probably be my next tire.

I'm on my 3rd set of these and they don't look as aggressive to me as they used to. Maybe I should clean them and check again. I have about 500 miles on this newest set.. considering switching out for BFG A/T 's

I do a LOT of highway driving, and as mileage is important. I like my trucks to look like a truck....A good looking tire is important. I do a bit of off roading. Performance there is important. I sure don't want the tires to be a liability when in the dirt. I spent a few years working for Honda, as a suspension technician (dirt bikes). I learned to appreciate a lighter tire and it's value to the performance of the suspension. That said....I LOVE the 265/75/r16 Goodyear Duratrac load range C's I have on my truck now. When I bought the truck, it had Yokohama Geolanders (265/75/16) on it. I ran them a few months and was able to establish a good MPG average of just over 20. When I first went to the Duratracs, that dropped a tic to around 18-1/2 under the same conditions. After playing with tire pressures, I'm @ 19-1/2 to 20 mpg most of the time. The truck rides fantastic. SOME of that is due to a new, fresh suspension installed about 2 months ago, but the ride wouldn't be this good without the tires doing THEIR part. Wet road performance is as good as an A/T tire can be. Off road performance has proven to be VERY good. All things considered, I'm 110% pleased with the Duratracs.

Old thread I know. Did you ever install that Dynapro tire on your Tacoma? Looking for a light weight AT tire for my Tacoma.

I did, they were a okish tire. Gripped decent in wet / ice for the first 20k miles, but then got loud and grip started getting less and less. Around 40k miles i had a blowout on hwy 395 on my way home from mammoth, I attribute it to possibly compromised sidewall due to some off roading on the way home.

I just had my second set mounted the other day. Replaced the first set at about 45k with still some tread left, but I drive in the snow alot so didnt want to wait to long. I think they are the best tire I have owned.
Better in the wet then my dad's 11' DCLB Tacoma with Long Trails. Awesome in snow. They did get louder but not horrible.

Ran two sets of 265/7/17 Hankook Dynapro ATm's for more than 100k miles (total, not each). Grip in the wet and snow was great for the first 30k or so and progressively worse through 55k-60k miles for each. At the end I definitely did NOT feel comfortable driving in the rain with them (despite 6/32 remaining). The tires are light (38lbs) so the weight doesn't hit your MPG but the AT tread does (simply more rolling resistance).

For someone that WANTS the aggressive look and highway manners in a high quality tire, the Dynapro's own the market space.

I just went back to stock size Michelin defenders and gained 1mpg (corrected).

Dynapro ATM is your answer. I wanted the lightest and most aggressive tread I could get away with for a 2TR truck...drive mostly highways. 20,000 miles so far and I can't see obvious signs of wear. Love 'em.
