Damn I love Rota Broaches (annular cutters)!

 

For a second I thought you left the key in the chuck and I was gonna holler at you. But that's the workpiece I guess. What're you broaching?

 

Lol, yeah that's the slug left over. I just use them to make big holes. Saves so much time rather than using multiple drill bits & stepping up to size then boring. And the left over slug can be used for something else.

Just making an adapter to put a digital readout on my lathe's tailstock.

The plate in the second pic is when I made those top plates for my shock buckets.

Alright boys, when I roll into 1st (0-5 mph) I've got a squealing/squeaking that sounds like its coming from my rear end. Almost sounds like a dirty brake would. Any suggestions? Driving me insane.

 

Are you braking when it happens?

 

Brake cleaner might have break dust in the back.

 

No. Only does it at a slow roll.

 

if it's squealing like a bad/dirty brake pad without braking then I wonder if maybe something (dirt, small rock, etc.) is trapped in the drum and making noise. Might have to pop it off and clean it

 

If it's "chirping" like a bird then that's probably your u-joint(s) or maybe carrier bearing. I have the chirp happening at low speeds, at least that's when I can hear it, especially when going from forward to reverse.

 

I did go wheeling last weekend and she got muddy as fck... I'll get under there this weekend and take a better look. Probably just a rock/dirt.

I really like T-100, but be careful, that 3.0 is a turd of an engine that makes less power than the Taco 4cyl and blows headgaskets for fun if you don't put headers on it to correct the overheat problem for cyl 6. On the bright side it has had a head gasket job so it might be okay for a while.

 

I know nothing about the 3.0 so thanks for the warning. I will go back to looking for a 3.4 T100. Thanks !

 

That is probably wise, although that T-100 did look really well cared for which is worth something still.
