So a little update...ran into a bit of a hiccup after adding resis, the hoses were african american length, vs the asian length my first gens tiny wheel wells could handle. So i was left with the dilemma of removing the goddam coils again. Its not cheap and with a few friends needing rebuilds we went in on a coil compressor

    BA56CC25-8EA4-4032-9B31-A4DCEB7A3C56.jpg

This thing works like a charm and with 700# coils I put it to the test. It was a but scary, but after the first one came off without a problem, second one was off

You can see the elephant hoses are way too long, but whatever its a quick fix and we will get it right the second go round.

    C32214E6-F2E4-4CA1-8BCA-7815C65F01D7.jpg

Unfortunately I hit another hiccup and had a set screw strip so I could only get one done last night.

    99BD9FD8-C6F7-4842-A5B4-56C3387A456D.jpg

So it should get all put back together tomorrow. But at least I got one back on and test fit. Just need a minor adjustment with the 45° hose fitting, but placement is way better. Brackets came from Icon. I had tried to get intouch with MCM Fab for weeks but looks like Icon has the same bracket

Many thanks to my friend who has shared beers n laughs and experience with me on this project. For those that know me personally you know I want to learn about everything that goes into and on my rig, and I read a lot of info and ask a ton of questions hahah

I dont think I will with that location, but Ill find out in the next couple days. With the longer hoses it was gonna rub for sure, probably on a speed bump. Ill give an update when I get em both back on and give it a good test run.

Your hose is entirely too long for this location.

So got the DS suspension on today and the truck is off the jack stands again! Everything looks pretty good to me.

Its hard to get a good angle with the phone cam, so you'll have to trust me that Ive got plenty of room. Maybe at full lock and full stuff I will rub the resi. I don't find myself doing that too often, probably just jinxed myself. Maybe if I threw some spacers on there it would give me more room...but Im not too concerned. For now Im stoked and will get a good run at it to see for sure.

Got a few maintenance things left to do, gotta get the skid mounting bracket welded back on, but I can do some easier flexy stuff to test the suspension out. Thanks though man! Im pretty excited.

How much for the spring compressor and where did you pick it up?

I use this mount because I rubbed the reservoirs really bad in the stock location. I haven’t had any issues.

Those bolts they send didn’t work for me at all. I ended up tapping the original holes the next size up and using a hex bolt to keep them on.

I got lucky, and bought before AllPro went down the crapper. I lost my bolts and they sent me two sets of em for free. I had zero issues with all my product and the staff was excellent. Then five months later they took a nose dive into an empty pool. Seems to happen.

How u like those 14” 650lb springs? Did you have to use spring compressor? Original springs were 600lb 12”?

I havent switched to 14" 650s. Originally it came with 13" 650's. Im still playing around with valving/preload/psi to get my ride quality. Right now Ive got 14" 700's. Before I started changing the shims they were incredibly stiff with harsh rebound. I fixed the rebound by stiffening things up. Then added resis to have more oil and see what that did. So far with the changes Ive made to the shocks they ride much better! Im sure if I went to 14" 650's the ride would be way smoother, but for now Im pretty happy with my end result. Its been a long journey with this project and I have a lot of time invested. I wouldnt recommend going my route....the spring compressor works awesome.

Edit, I still may soften up the compression stack a little more, but not anytime soon. It has made me realize how stiff my rears are, and I will revalve those next.

A little update as well, I do rub on the resis slightly, and I think its as a result of my wheel BS...but I dont really give a fuck hahah. Its not bad, and only when im in the rocks at slow speeds. Eventually I will get some spacers, and I am sure that will fix it.

Side note, I replaced my door handle today, old one broke. Thanks for the door handle rec @eon_blue that thing works like a charm. F6D0448C-5B08-4BA3-BEA1-590C2728F808.jpg
