No problem! Thanks. Maybe someone else knows how far forward the spring perches get moved.

We measured from the 2 hole in the frame forward of the stock spring perch back I think.

1997 t4r has super duty axles, 5.13s locked front and rear. 3 link front with 14" kings. Rear 63s.
The 5 or 6 trucks ive done I have not taken that measurement on any of them. That measurement is not important at all because it matters where the axle is located at. Tape measure is All I used in all of them.

Frame holes just under the rear doors. Straight back to the front of the spring perch, Take both sides write on Frame with a silver paint pen or marker.

When setting the axle with new springs and mounts worry about the front first. Make sure to take same measurement that you took before. Get that in spec, measure in a x from Frame to perch just behind the tank there is another oval hole to use. Do this until you get everything exactly the same per side.

Tack the front of the spring mounts to hold in place. The rear you set the shackle angle and put weight on the springs. If everything is good burn it in.

Right on thanks for the help!
I do realize measuring the front spring perch eye hole to new front spring perch eye hole isn’t the best or only method to line it up properly.
However my situation is a bit unique for several reasons I won’t get into to keep this straight forward.
    Based on this link: https://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/toyota-truck-4runner/20665-63-chevy-1-2-ton-spring-swap-faq.html
It sounds to me like it’s being recommended to move the front perches 9-9.5” forward. Or am I reading it wrong??
I did jus that, tacked the front hanger in place 9.25” forward after verifying 100 Times that both sides were true.
But now with the springs in place it looks like the mount should of only been moved forward about ~4 inches. 9+” will move the axle forward alomost 5 inches.
Does that sound about right to those who’ve done the swap on a 3rd gen?

9" is a lot. Stand by and I'll post a pic of where mine are located shortly.

Thanks man! Pics definitely helped. I think that info on pirate4x4 must be an error. It’s much closer to 4” inches forward not 9”.
I appreciate taking the time to point me down in the right direction.
    Cheers,
    Mike

Sorry man I was going to reply to you yesterday but my phone was about to die.

I tried to do what you’re taking about, but ended up doing it the way Timbo is explaining it. He’s the best guy to get your advice from, since he’s done so many.
I’ve only done mine and ended up having to re-do my rear hangers a few weeks later. Had them too far to the rear the first time and the shackles were almost vertical.

Nothing new with the truck, but...
I wanted my 11 year old daughter to learn how to drive a manual before an auto, so I took her to a nice wide open field. I started her out in 4 low just so she could get the clutch/throttle figured out. About 20 minutes into it, she was doing great. Not “cut her loose on the streets” great, but great for an 11 year old who’s only driven a pink Barbie Jeep power wheel.

Can’t get the video to load, but here’s some screen shots.

Fun day wheeling with a bunch of Jeep guys.
Oh, and a Land Cruiser. That’s wheeling in luxury. That thing was nice.
Weather was almost perfect. The trails were really tight. I got my first dent on my bed side next to my tail light. It isn’t bad though.
Now, on to the pics. All I got was a few still pics. I think one of the Jeep guys was shooting some action pics and there may be some drone footage.

Went fishing with the boy today. Fish weren’t really biting. We only caught a few tiny bass, but still had a good time.

Precleaner came in too, but where the head of the Dobinson’s snorkel attaches is 3 1/2” OD. The ID of the Precleaner is 4”, so I’m going to have to make an adapter.

    38A590E9-C712-451E-97A3-3D30095C905E.jpg

I got the precleaner from Northridge4x4. Its a Sy-Klone 9001, but for whatever reason, Northridge has the manufacturer listed as AEV. At $135, this is by far the best price I’ve seen. The only other place I could find them, they were selling for $200. Of course they had the word “overland” in their company name, and you know how jacked the prices are for “overland” stuff.

Thanks man! Yours too. I follow you on IG.
    That Mobtown bumper...
And maybe one day I’ll get me some Kings too, but I haven’t quite figured out which direction I want to go with the build. I’d like to do long travel, but SAS makes more since for me.

    Thanks brotha, appreciate it!
Don’t you say those three letters “SAS”, hella new to the Offroad scene, but the more and more I keep hanging with these damn rock crawlers, SAS always crosses my mind. I’m supposed to ease into this wheeling shit, so maybe I’ll take baby steps like your 63 swap for now.

    Staying tuned to you thread!

I’m not one to slap a bunch of unnecessary lights all over my truck, since I rarely ever wheel at night. I’ve actually only wheeled twice at night ever (in this truck).
But... these were much needed. Ended up getting the squadron sports instead of the squadron pros, since I’ll be driving with them. Not trying to blind people here.

Mid skid came in earlier this week too. I ordered Pelfreybilt mid and t-case skids from BAMF. All they had was aluminum. I would’ve preferred steel, but went ahead and ordered anyway. Jerry contacted me a few days later and said there was a stock error and they didn’t have any t-case skids.
Now I need to find another brand t-case skid that’ll work with the Pelfreybilt mid. It looks like I might be able to get one from RCI and bend the front of it up to use the same mounts as Pelfrey. I dunno...
Or....I need to find someone wanting to get rid of a Pelfreybilt one.

I was able to find someone willing to sell me a Pelfreybilt t-case skid. Now I finally have a complete matching set. Hit up the muffler shop first thing this morning and got the exhaust rerouted, then came home and slapped on the skids.

And I got a call from Brute Force Fab on Tuesday saying my bumper was done and they would be shipping it on Wednesday. Haven’t heard from them since. I know they didn’t ship it, because I still haven’t been invoiced for the other half of the money I need to pay. Not sure what’s going on.
I hear CBI has crazy lead times, but I ordered this thing on October 25th. That’s damn near 5 months....

After exactly 5 months and 1 week of waiting, I finally got my bumper. Was hoping to get this thing painted and installed ASAP, but it’s supposed to rain most of the weekend.
Well that, and I also bought a new boat, so I’ll probably be playing with that instead.
