Taillights look tits man. I was going to say, some aluminum with holes to make it all flush would be sweet.

Peel off one of the real taillight lens and use that for a template. You could even heat it to make it flat so you can use it as a template to cut your flat material before forming.

Damn thanks. I need to see about borrowing a trailer when we come down in a few weeks or if we should just take the car and save on gas and pay extra for the steel.

Which KC lights did you use to make those?

I'd try to get that strap more vertical, meaning parallel to the axle travel arc. I suppose the pixpict you show will work, but theres a big lateral load being added thats not needed.
I put mine (SOA, MT) directly above the axle on the inside frame box. Most TT pictures I've seen do something similar.

I like having it directly above the axle but I also like that in this case the strap helps stop the forward motion of the axle as it swings on the arc. With the big shackle on the DMZ kit there is some decent movement of the axle forward and back. I will probably end up in between vertical and the picture I posted. I do agree that pic is angled back pretty far.

Yeah that’s about what I had in mind. What size straps are yours?

    A thing or two...
Since we're on the topic of straps. When you're looking at straps, they say 1" of stretch per foot of length. Does that mean if you have 24" between the strap mounting points that you want to buy a 22" strap? Or does it mean that you buy a 24" strap and use the adjustable hanger to take out slack as it ages, and it's trash when it measures 26"?

Yeah I have a pair of 16s I inherited from a friends project. Hoping I can make them fit without having to order the 18s. With the clevis I should be good

Yeah I’m pretty sure mine are 16’s with the adjustable clevis. Those clevis are awesome, running them front and rear.

If you buy like 6 ply straps... like the Trail Gear ones...they're might stretch like 1/4" max for the long straps

And a side note you guys should advertise that they can mount with zeus fasteners as like a real selling point! One of the main reasons I bought em

Did you figure out how to get the tail and brake light brightnesses or did you run two red lights? I too am tired of breaking lights but I’ve only gone thru 2 sets in 9 years. Not too bad.
