Should be good. I use a 4" drop now and I don't have near the weight you will. Oh wait nope scratch that you'll probably need a little more since the hitch is moved up like 6"

That is my thinking as well but I want the camper about 2" high at the hitch so I may be able to go up a couple of tire sizes on the camper eventually. This will be fun to figure out. I just kinda need all the different elements in play so I can see what I actually need.

Yeah having all that done so you can get some good measurements will make it a lot easier. I have bought a bunch of extra stuff for the 63 swap, jsut in case. I have ran so many calculations and I know once we get in there the plans will have to be adapted.

Smart on your part. perhaps more expensive but you'll be quite a way from home to wait on parts and when the cutting starts it has to get done

Yep or I can save stuff for changing it up etc. Oh I am determined to have my 1" BL and new bushings in before the hackery. So we'll be setting the shock towers up 1" from where they normally would be. I have a 1" wide strip of 3/16 we can weld in to fill the gap and some 3/16 to make some gussets out of to strengthen that area where it'll be but welded. I think I may be able to bump up to 16" shocks in the future. Also changed the plan up and ordered 6" & 7" shackles see which one will work the best. And go from there.

I wish we had the time to remove the bed and have a wide open canvas to paint this pretty picture on

Eh I am going to paint what we can't get to before hand. Plus we'll have a bunch of guys there. If me and you get a bunch of stuff knocked out and tacked into place we could force them to help remove the bed to make it more comfortable to work on. Just lifting it up and over the towers will be a little bit of a challenge.

We will have to back the truck in though and leave the cab sticking out some so we have plenty of room. So, the bed would have to come off first. We'll get it I may try and get the Camaro running and if the weather is good move it outside for this. I'm trying to gain as much room as possible. I'm sure we can get it with the bed on though

Oh everything can be done with the bed on it's just easier and more comfortable with the bed off. All that needs to be done before the bed comes off is tack the shock mounts on. If you have a cherry picker we can lift it off with that. I've done them by myself like that.

I'm waiting on a final price. If under 10k I think it's a go. Over 10k I'm gonna have to think about it a little more !

My hat goes off to y'all with the investments you make in these trucks. I reckon if I'd have spent what i did on the camper on the truck I could have built a hell of a truck as we are probably up to 16k on it by now. The camper and truck work great for us and what we want to do though and I have absolutely no regrets. That is probably one of the things I get most frustrated with on Tw the most people running somebody else down for doing what works for them. We see this all the time and I admit I get tired of threads like "what have you done to your second gen today?" as it's mostly lights, stickers, radio knobs and floor mats. I just enjoy looking at all the cool builds. I ran into the same crap with the classic cars I roll in with a heavily modified 68 camaro and people look down at it because its different.
You guys keep it going because I enjoy seeing what you do!

People are always looking to find something negative. I had one guy call my rear bumper a billboard for SOS concepts. Your damn right it is one bad ass MFin billboard:thumbsup: and why shouldn't it be.

You keep doing what your doing too. I need more ideas to shamelessly copycat :anonymous:

    Your copycatting me :D

Yet all the logo cutouts are optional. There are others where you get the cutout/logo no matter what. I am not a huge fan of some of the Logoing but the subtle logo on my sliders is what I like. And like the little SOS detail on your swingout hinge brackets I really like subtleties like that.

We are all building different types of rigs. When most of the rigs are all the same it gets boring. All gets fun hearing all the naysayers. Different people like different things can't knock them for that.

The tire just unseated from being air down while doing donuts. The fiberglass is 3 pooches TCLT truck!

Pretty fun day I put my sliders and skids to work!

Trails were crazy tight. I'm very surprised I still have both mirrors.
