Yes. But you can just use the bulbs and don't have to trim the tabs on them.

Been following this thread for a while and I gotta say, heat from the bulbs to melt the snow is a thing. I just drove through some nasty shit.

 

Just had the same thing happen last week. Drove around with lights on. Cleared em off....

I’m looking at some reviews about this hella H9s and i’m Getting a little bit worry.... from your personal experience can you tell me if you did in fact had a better experience, and an increase in brightness?

I got a trip coming up and I like to travel at night for ease of traffic and less bullshit on the road..any info you guys/gals provide is greatly appreciated...

Damn this thread. I have 2 sets of the GE’s ready to install and backup, then I just ordered wiring extenders and 2 sets of the Hellas for later. Seems like I’ll be set for the next 2-4 years...

 

When you trade it in the next owner will he happy with the extra bulbs laying around lol

 

Maybe, I had my 2004 Tacoma for 13 years and 275,000 miles. My intent is to do the same with my 2017 Tacoma.

Welp, $48 later and 4 H9's should be here in a 2 days. I will most likely trim the bulb for the lows and call it good. Stock bulbs will go behind the rear seats just in case. Excited to see how these do!

@crashnburn80 Any experience with the Nokya crystal clear stage 2 H11's? They're 75w vs the standard 55w, but not as high as a high wattage H4 at 90w. Seems like a bulb that could potentially offer more output without requiring an upgraded wiring harness.

The 75w H11 will put out more light than a standard H11, but it will not match the output of an H9. You need to go up to a 90w H11 to compare to an H9. The H9s will run cooler and have better focus, making them a far superior option for the H11 headlight projector.

Fog fogs it does offer increased output which should be ok for the OEM harness. The OEM TRD H11 fogs do not do a good job of glare control though, so it isn't a very street friendly upgrade as the glare is increased with increased output. If you are smart about when you run your fogs, it isn't an issue, but if you are running them all the time with oncoming traffic, it creates a lot of glare.
