Got the PSA "pistol" done. I'm using that term loosely since length from the end of the brace to the muzzle is 27 inches so it falls under this week's definition of "firearm".

Flashlight (9 o’clock), laser (12 o’clock), sling, pressure switch (12 o’clock) to control either one or both (light or laser) depending on how it’s setup, red dot, forward grip, and rear sight.

Kinda what I thought, and I knew it was a flashlight! ;) So, the laser, red dot and open sights all zeroed at the same range? What range?

Just covering bases, some folks I know would be shocked seeing a light on a rifle.

No clue, that would be a question for @LMarshall73

This one hasn't been zeroed yet, but I typically zero red dot and sights at 50yds. I keep my lasers parallel with the barrel to prevent crossover at long range. On this one, the laser is 2" high and 3/4" right of the centerline of the bore. Offset for the Holosun LS221G is the same on my 16". Putting the laser dot on the left eyebrow of a target should score a money shot out past 200yds.

I only asked because my 10-22 wears a scope on top, and a laser underneath the barrel. Zero can get confusing at different ranges.
And if you can see an eyebrow at 200 yards, you have better eyes than me. ;)

Speaking of lights and accessories. What lights do you all recommend. Would like to stay in the $150 and under range so that surefire is out. Going to be run on a 16" Ar15 in 556

    Update on this.
I made a 2nd band just a little thinner than half the width of the original and I’m much happier with it.

    What role?
I like my Streamlight TLR-1HL on my SBR, a little bright inside (clearing rooms) but works well for short to medium range outdoors (I can see and ID targets at 80 yards with Nikon pro-staff at 4X in otherwise pitch black) but I’m looking for other options for longer runtime and a little better range outdoors with variable intensity.

"Truck gun" its my go to on camping/exploring. So probably something with a good throw not so much for tight spaces/small buildings.

Scorpion w/ a tlr1 fills the HD roll for me. I just wish i had a can for it. Instead i keep ears right on it, worth the seconds they would take to put on IMO

Are you looking for the ability to run a tape switch?
You could run something like a Nitecore MH25GTS and have 1800 lumens with a 304M beam distance for $120 on Amazon and then another maybe $30 (didn’t look so I may be off) you can get a pic rail mount. I like the ability to recharge on the rifle and it uses an 18650 battery, as well as having strobe mode and adjustable brightness.

I don’t know if you can run a tape switch for it though.

Scorpion should work well, can would be great.
Personally I won’t run ears in an HD situation, simply rely on auditory exclusion and trade hearing damage for being able to hear if people are moving in the house. Just my opinion though.

Never used a tape switch before. If the button on the light isnt easy to manipulate then i probably would.

They're electric, honestly i can hear better w/ them than without. Dual mics and separate left and right speakers means i dont lose direction either. Also if i know for fact somebody broke into the house im calling the cops and holding the room/hallway. If i lived somewhere rural it would probably be a different story.

I use a tape switch in my TLR-1HL and I really like it, it makes ambi use much easier.
Nitecore does offer a tape switch and it’s affordable, it also retains a physical button at the light as well.
Looking at the MH25GT the modes are changed by twisting the head so that may be a deal breaker for you.

    Ah, electronic ears, you’re fancy.
We have a pair somewhere but the batteries are always dead, I rarely use earplugs because I typically shoot by myself and shoot suppressed, I just use my Bluetooth earbuds to get a little extra noice reduction and listen to podcasts or music at the range.

:notsure: $60 for a decent set i haven't had issues w/ batteries unless i forget to shut them off. I for the most part go to public ranges and have no cans anyway for desert trips. So ears for me until i have my own property and cans.

Thats not too bad for the added function. I'll do more browsing through nitecores lights later. Thanks!

The people I shoot with forget to turn them off, I never check them so that’s how that happens.
No problem, let me know what you come up with.

I just added Inforce lights to my 16" AR and my AK SBR. I haven't been able to check durability, but they cost less than some MilSurp Surefires. That being said, you might find a used M951 on eBay for cheap. Add a Malkoff head and it's a potent light.

Maybe down the road I'll buy something w/ more throw but this will work great in the meantime
