Added trans & engine oil coolers. (No factory tow pkg)
I have not seen the bill yet. The Oil Cooler from Source One came in earlier this week. I can't get back in to get it installed until late next week. He's just going to bill me for the whole thing when it is done.

Sorry, but I don't recall, but a good guess would be 10 mm.

Way bigger than 10. More like 25 or 30 something.

I ended up buying a used one from another TW member when he was upgrading to a bigger unit for towing in southern heat. If you follow a trans cooler thread you will probably find some guys who would like to unload theirs too. I got everything but the rubber hoses and the hard lines that go from the front of the core support to behind it. The cooler itself is the expensive piece.

After finding this thread 5 years After the initial post, I clicked the Source One link and ordered the kit. It arrived with everything packaged and in order. Nothing had been opened as someone mentioned previously.

The installation went perfect. I was in the process of replacing my water pump anyway, which is why I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the kit. If anyone is curious, you will need a 12 mm hex socket to remove the old nipple from the filter housing. The new oil filter housing union is 30 mm. Torque to 50 lb-ft and hook up the hoses to the new coolant inlet.

I posted this just to make anyone interested aware that the kit is still available. I can post pictures of the installation if anyone is interested.

Might as well post the pictures.

I asked in 2018 if anyone had a scan guage to read the before and after oil temps. Do you have one?

    First time seeing this.

WDYM factory? Do these trucks come or not come with these?
I have an '08 with factory tow package and don't recall seeing an oil cooler. IDK if it even has one at all.
I'll go look under the filter to check.

The tow package on a manual transmission comes with the oil cooler kit. On a automatic you get the transmission cooler kit.

You get both with an automatic trans tow package truck.

You're right, I'm thinking coolant temp (Water temp). Our trucks don't have oil temp sensor, so nothing to read.

I did manage to get my SG2 to read transmission temps which some say is impossible.

My previous '07 TRD Off Road had the towing package that came with factory oil and trans coolers. My current '12 did not. When I had to set it up for towing my compact tractor I added Derale aftermarket transmission and oil coolers. I never liked the oil cooler because it circulates the engine oil from a filter housing adapter to a small radiator. I've had to re-tighten the hose clamps several times to stop leaks, and I was somewhat concerned about oil loss. When I stumbled into this thread and found I could order the factory kit for less than 300 bucks it felt like Christmas!! SO now I've removed the aftermarket oil cooler and installed the real deal!! I'm happy.

Don't have a scan gauge. I simply replaced an aftermarket setup that I had installed with this one.
