My 1995 Ford Bronco had this feature. No excuse these days.

As far as the R4? I kind of like it. Looks like a Subaru, hopefully without the 1 quart/1k mile "normal" oil burning.

The what? I had a 2016 STi and I never saw any significant oil burning issues. I would run 5k between oil changes and wouldn’t see any discernible difference on the dip stick.

I will say though. Subaru’s service department is way beyond anything toyota offers. Withbthe STi I kept getting a TPMS light on the dash every other month or so. I’d air up the tires and go about my business. Took it in for routine maint and mentioned the tire pressure issue. Mind you I had pulled the wheels and looked for a leak. Maybe my methods weren’t the best and I never found anything so I assumed I had a wheel issue.

So, take it in for routine oil change and maint. Mention the air pressure issue. 4 hours later after sitting in the service center they come back to me. The found a tiny hole in one of my tires, patched it, re-mounted the tire and balanced it. They also did a tire rotation and the oil change. When I went to pay, expecting the usual $$ for the oil change and 4 hours of labor...they handed me my keys and said sorry for the delay and have a nice day, oh and see you in 5k miles. Absolutely no charge for anything that day! If I have to buy a cross over or another “car” it will damn well be a Subaru!

Yeah I'm pretty sure the STi engines didn't have any problems, just most of the others. And I'm with you on the service departments...I take my Acura in and get treated to free hair cuts, food, drinks, nail salon for the spousal unit, movie theater for the crumb snatcher, and shuttle service if I need to run errands. They actually try to find things wrong like they need something to do and actually did an alignment under drivetrain warranty at my last service :burnrubber:

That engine? Oh Jesus. Go on NASIOC and you’ll find a plethora of people complaining about that EJ257. There is one common theme...ringland failure.

Love how fast this went off topic. I rarely post, but wanted to say the new Subaru Forester-ascent looks great. Wouldn't have been the first, but wasn't expecting to be posting below a 50s GMC truck! Pretty hilarious. To me anyways. ✌️

I traded in a 2008 RAV4 when I got my Tacoma, it had a 2grfe and awd with 269hp. I gotta admit it was a hoot to drive and could tow 3500 lbs, and fit 4 real adults. IMG_20190120_151121.jpg

I’m surprised too, I just started it as a “oh crap, my Tacoma looks like a RAV4” joke. Now I’m wondering if my wife should buy one. Lol

I had a 2016 Rav4 and i just didn’t like it. It was the limited too. I couldn’t stand how dead the performance was. Not that the Taco is a lambo either but definitely faster.

When we went to get the Taco the 4Runner was a very strong contender but the Taco had more incentives. So we didn’t even test drive. Maybe when wife’s lease is up on her civic I get her a 4Runner. Or do the mature thing and pay off Civic. :anonymous:

I think it looks great. Doesn't really look like a tacoma at all, i mean there are a lot of similarities but it's not like a tacoma with a cap on or anything
