Larger piston in 14wa is going to take more pedal travel. Steel brakelines might give some of the slack back.

I did this upgrade as well and pressure bled the entire system multiple times with our brake flush machine to no avail. Wondering if theres a better matched master cylinder for this upgrade

Also have a trd sport, 2012 though. Had spongy pedal after a good bleed also. Ended up being the shoes on the back (which I also replaced same time) were not dialed in enough, about 10-15 clicks later on each side it was fixed. The offroad I understand is a little trickier but the sport was pretty straightforward. Used a self bleeding canister which helped alot - especially since the wife was really over it after the hours this project took.

Curious if there is something else. I had no issues. Do you have a sport or off road? Curious if the folks with the electric booster have less issues. I had also planned to do the SOS conversion for kicks but I am unable to replace with the sequoia master due to the off road electric booster.

I just rebuilt a caliper and bled all 4 brakes again and it helps a bit. Did you bleed the master by the way?

ah that would make sense on the rear. The off road once you figure out how to bleed is super easy. It pretty much does the work for you. have not really played with the rear but from a bleeding standpoint super easy.

Just did this upgrade and ran into a few snags along the way.
    1. Removing the hard brake lines was a bit cumbersome, the connections closest to the truck bed are a pain to get to.
    2. Removing the hubs was pretty time consuming.
    3. I also had to run and get a 35mm socket for the nut.

I am noticing some brake drag though. Did anyone else run into similar issues afterwards? Curious what I need to do to get rid of it.

What do you mean by brake drag? Also the hub is 35 not 36 although it seems to work still. And yah those rear lines are a PIA.

You are right, 35mm. I updated my post. What I mean by brake drag... when I come to a stop or take off the brakes feel like they do not fully release instantly. Like there is a big of a "lag". I've read somewhere it could be from too much brake fluid in the reservoir or brake pads being to tight with shims. Although I did not use any shims.

Ah gotcha. What pads did you use? I have stock pads right now. I did hear using say EBC the shims make it too tight.

I used the EBC greenstuff pads. I did not use any shims, I only used the "baffles" that they provide. Maybe I just need to grease the pins that go into the pads and calipers more.

That may help. I recently just popped mine out and did that. Check to make sure you do not have a seized pistons. If ones sticking that could cause some pulling or possible dragging.

Just to clear it up for everyone. The tacoma wheels will not fit with the 4Runner calipers. For the same reason you can not put tacoma wheels onto a 4Runner. The factory tacoma offset is 30mm and the T4R offset is 15mm. And that is also why the aftermarket wheels have no issues, they are mainly a 0mm offset. So it is not the too big around it is the too thick that is the issue. So yes, spacers will fix the issue.

Anyone found a master cylinder that gives a firmer pedal feel/less pedal travel with a TRD Sport? Ready to do this upgrade but must have a better pedal feel than I have now so want to upgrade the master cylinder too. Already have SS lines installed, can't say it made any difference.

That Power Stop kit price looks tempting but I think I'd prefer factory parts.

The tundra brake booster then TrailToys makes an adapter plate to put a bigger GM master cycl on it.
