been thinking about lifting my Sport lately and have decided if I do, I want to use the Icon Stage 1 or 2 kit. I don't want it super high, maybe 1" higher than stock is really all I am looking for. not wanting to do a spacer kit, because I would like a nicer ride than factory anyway.

my truck isn't raked as much as some I see though. and my measurements are different at all 4 wheels on level ground. all measurements are from ground to center of the bottom of the fender flare.
    Left Front is 35 1/16"
    Left Rear is 36 1/4"
    Right Front is 35 1/2"
    Right Rear is 36 7/16"

will I need a diff drop kit for this lift? does anybody have this suspension on their 3rd Gen Sport? how is the ride? I don't "wheel" but am going to start to get into some light "wheeling" soon.

You should not need a diff drop for that lift

While I could not tell you how the Icon's ride exactly, you can assume that they will provide better damping in comparison to your sport suspension. Not too many benefit from the diff drop kit. In fact, most members recommend to stay away from a diff drop kit as it alters the geometry of your driveline while adversely affecting your skid (splash) plate's to protect your front diff.

Also, I would consider looking at threads that have other members discuss their opinions on the Icon suspension. They could give in-depth real-world experiences of the suspension lift that may likely answer your questions.

Shocks don't lift your truck coils and leafs do. So if you want more lift you will either need to crank the coilovers to increase lift and possible add a AAL or leaf pack in the rear to get the desired height and performance you are looking for.

Icon suspension are digressive vs progressive and some people dont like that. Additionally, Icon has a bit of a reputation for problems and poor customer service.

You shouldn't need a dif drop kit

I have an icon stage 1 with SPC ucas. They're set at about 1.5" lift stock and handle great. Much better handling than the OEM bilsteins. I also did a 4 day off road trip and had no problems with them heating up even without the reservoirs.
