Hi . Just curious how much they are giving for Tacoma's when traded in . When I bought mine they swore Toyota's hold value better than anyone --- I know they lie just saying. Seems like a lot of owners like to get a newer model every few years . A lot of chat about 2020's on here , I guess some will wait till then and others will keep theirs till they turn it into a mudder . Anyway GL with the Tacoma and all you do .

Tacos and T4R are indeed the highest resale value Toyotas so that was actually true.

I've seen several people do that trade to refresh their trucks especially going from 4x2 to 4x4.

Trade in values will vary by dealer and region but just always be prepared to play the game.

They hold their value if you sell it yourself. They weren’t lying to you.

I just traded-in my 2015 TRD OR Access Cab 4x4 with only 23,500 miles for $22,375. No problems, in good condition.

Not an a new Tacoma, but I traded my 2011 DCSB Off Road with 101k miles for $14500. Three weeks ago, we traded my wifes 2010 4Runner with 108k miles on a 2019 Highlander and got $14.5 too.

I was offered $6500 for my 2002 DCSB PreRunner ~150k miles when I bought my 2018 DCSB OR. I declined and giving it instead to my eldest son.

Not sure about 3rd gens but 1st gens go for a ton around here (no salt). I sold my 1996 AC 1st gen DX manual 5spd 4x4 for $6,500 in 2018. Power nothing. It had 255k on it. Interior was perfect but exterior was so so. Also needed some work (CVs, rack, tie rod, etc). That’s over a quarter of what it stickered for in ‘96 when we bought it off the lot. If my 3rd gen holds value half as good as my 1st gen I’ll be happy!

I got 27k for my ‘18 DCSB SR5 2wd, about $700 less than I paid for it before tax tag title fees. Edit: with around 6k miles

My 2016 was just a hair under 40k sticker and with 25,000 miles it's worth about 29k. I'm disappointed my 2013 held its value way better stickered at 32k and sold for 29k after 3 years and I had a ton of equity in on that 2nd gen when i traded it in. Not happening with this 3rd gen the residual values just aren't there on these 3rd gens. Not a big shocker but disappointing.

We traded our 2005 Trd sport in on the 2017. We got $7k, but it had a blown headgasket and most likely a cracked head.

Just traded my 2013 DCSB OR 4x4 with 87,xxx on a 2018 DCSB OR 4x4 with 9,5xx. 2018 was 33,500. Got 21,500 for my 2013. Had it for 6 years put 75,xxx on it. Paid just under 30,000 in 2013 for it. In Missouri.

My Radiant Red 2005 Sport Pre-Runner drew $7,000 traded for a 2019 Taco Sport, AC. Sticker on the new truck was about $38,000. This happened in the Portland, Oregon area. I don't know how good or bad this deal was but I drive away happy (except for the color! I wanted a Cavalry Blue or Cement. None were available so I settled for Silver. When I drove off the lot I discovered every third car in America is Silver!)

Traded in Dec, got $32k for my 17 TRD OR 4wd DCSB jbl/tech/prom with 16k miles for my 19 TRD OR 4wd DCSB tech and prem that I got for $37.2k, $41.3k msrp. Deals can be had, just gotta work for em. This was 3 days before Christmas. 2020s are gonna be a bit of a hot commodity at first so don’t expect killer deals early on.

Even my salesman was surprised the sales manager took my offer/deal. Same, had no plans to trade but saw the cement 19 when I stopped in for a cabin air filter and joked about if you made me a killer deal I’d jump and they did. Then again it was right before Christmas so sales were slow. I paid $36k for the 17 back in June of 17.

Hi, first time post long time reader. I have a ‘14 trd sport dcsb 2x4 mag grey with 56k. Recently involved in a minor accident ( other party fault) and had to replace driver door and driver front panel for minor damage, all in all 4800$ in damage but a lot was due to labor. Runs perfect no mechanical issue other than the minor vehicle accident.

I’m wanting to trade it in for a ‘19 TRD OR 4x4 AT/dcsb. I’ve looked at various websites for trade-in value but not sure what it’s worth now that an accident will show up on car fax albeit a minor accident. Any knowledge or advice when trading in would be greatly appreciated. I know dealers will low ball because of it or probably will. I do have several pics on my phone to show dealership if they should ask. Sorry for a long first time post.
