broo looks sweet. So rub only on reverse? what about when you go off roading? I want to do the same, but might go with falkens to get better gas mileage. Will adding a upper control arm solve the rubbing issue?

    Thanks!

Yes only in reverse, It hasn't rubbed off-road yet. It's only rubbing on my mud flaps so I don't think UCA's would fix it.

The smart phone add on will work with the N2 remote starter or else I wouldn't sell it, and it's $189, not $300.

And be careful with the Start-x on amazon. Aside from him not being an authorized Fortin retailer, he doesn't have a website, or any clear way to contact him aside from the 3rd place market place he's on. If he pulled his listing tonight and went into hiding or stopped selling them for a minute because he didn't feel like it any more or got out of the business, guess what, you've go no where to go and your Amazon receipt is no good with factory direct warranty if you went that route.

Finally, eBay and Amazon sellers aren’t authorized and should they pull their listing, how will you find them for warranty issues? Because without them, your receipt is not good for factory direct warranty or tech support. I am putting emphasis on this point greatly, I know.

This guy sells random stuff on his eBay store aside from remote starters, for example beanies. Not sure how I confident I would be buying a remote starters from someone who’s focus isn’t just that, but making profit as a priority from what it seems.

Our vendors explicitly tells us we are NOT allowed to sell online in market places, you get cut from the brand if we do as serial numbers ARE tracked through distribution. Just friendly insight, don’t get stuck with a paper weight!

Not to mention, he's deceptive. He's been using my company name as a keyword on google to re-route folks to his amazon store, because his company sucks so much that he needs some strong key search words to phish ad deceive people. Do you really want to buy from a liar who can't drum up his own business that he has to use established company names to save a few extra bucks? Protect your hardware, protect your investment.

This isn’t to give you buyers remorse, but to help others understand deceptive tactics and tell people the truth about where their hard earned cash is going. He won’t our right tell you these things because it’ll affect his bottom line and I’m not here to take away from someone else’s work, but I will when you use my name to sell your stuff. That’s a weasel tactic and I know he reads these posts because his pricing follows my lead each time. The guy used to be selling them for $129 because no one was buying them from him, so he used my name as a keyword for search then raised his prices. He’s not getting them legitimately if he’s selling them for $129 once upon a time. That's borderline hot/stolen goods.

Forgive me if I am obtuse, you mentioned it did not rub with the 265/75-16’s and the 0 offset wheels totally bone stock before you lifted it, correct? Reason I ask is I would like to change my wheels and tires to that tire and wheel size prior to figuring out what lift setting I need and I’m not concerned about trying to stuff larger tires under my pick up, just want it to be more practical than the stock sport set up for me. I will probably do 5100s also and just want to level it after I get the cap put on. My main concerns are better traction, better ride, no rubbing or popping or any driveline issues or any ridiculous crap like that. Just a conservative good-looking modification for a middle-aged guy. LOL

This is my fourth taco, I guess I need to update my profile pic

I am looking to add a small, budget minded lift to my Taco. Seems like these 5100s are the route to go. How do the Bilsteins ride compared to the stock OR suspension? I want to go up maybe go up 2 inches in front and 1-2 in back. The stock OR suspension is pretty soft in my opinion. I wouldn’t mind it be a little firmer, but also don’t want the truck to ride like crap. I would like to retain just a slight rake. Truck will see light off road situations, nothing major and minimal light towing. 95% regular street driving.

The 5100's will be a little more stiff, it will feel more like the sport suspension at slower speeds and on road. They will soften up off road with a little speed.

I did the 5100s and a one inch rear block. It's not as stiff as the sport ride I just came from. Its a nice cross between a OR and a Sport, I'm on the 4th perch, slight rake and stock UCA,perfect allignment and the ride is awesome. I know because I have done it.

You may get minor rub on mudflap on hard turn reverse or turning over a bump but rubbing is on mudflap if you have them

I had a sr5 suspension, which was very bouncy. The 5100's made my ride a ton better...... my back was killing everyday on the stock shit.... 5100s made it drivable for longer trips.

Your set up and ride sounds like what I am after. So to confirm, you have the 5100s all around, or just in front?

Wonder how the OR coils would differ from the sport coils w/ the 5100s.

    Thanks for the responses, fellas.

The coils are all the same... the valving of the shocks is what makes the difference. If you use the stock spring you need to preload (compress) the coil by setting the bottom perch level to get desired lift.
Or get ome or toytec coils to set the perch on lowest setting (0) and use the proper size spring for the lift.

I have been told the coils are not the same. The sport springs are stiffer and side specific. My neighbor has the 888 coils and we think the ride is the same. We're both running 5100 front and rear with a block out back. I personally love the ride of my sport now. She floats great! I would save your money on the coils and remember the new coils are going to settle.

Correct. No rubbing even stock with no mud flaps. (Didn’t come with them). Have heard 16x8 0 offset with 265 75 16 can rub very minimally on the flaps. I’ll link a post from a while ago when I took it off road stock suspension with the wheels and tires.

JUST FYI- I have a 2019 Tacoma 4x4 sport DCSB( 14K miles). 265/70/17 with 1.25 Spidertrax spacers.. The Hitachi shocks were dangerous... like a bouncy pogo stick ride....you can imagine what that was like off road or even going around a bend in the freeway ( if you hit a bump)...felt out of control and bouncy, floaty....... I just put 5100's all around with the stock springs.. RIDES LIKE A NEW TRUCK... perfect amount of bounce, controlled on the freeway. I love it. put the 5100 on 2nd ring to level truck. Called it a day. NOTE- the tires rubbed just a hair when reversing or going into driveway... that is now gone too.Truck front.jpg s gone now too.

What is the sidewall ratio? Guessing 17" wheels? Looks more than 3" imo.
