Well it's a given that anything can be broken. It's also a given that spacer lifts narrow the window of what it takes to break something. If you missed it, my gripe is people not setting their suspensions to have safety at its bounds, ie. Reduce their full compression travel by spacing the bump stops. Because shit happens, and spacing the bump stops might make the difference between having a a functioning strut and having a blown/bent one.

The thing is, it's cool to install a $6k lift on your truck if you're just mall crawling. Some people like extreme upgrades just because it's fun, so spend your money as you wish... but I don't understand why someone has to bash a perfectly reasonable, task specific lift just because they think it's not good enough for them. If I was worried about impressing the faceless keyboard jockies on TW, I wouldn't have added a spacer lift.
All these lifts serve their purpose even if you've got a stage 10, 4" ICON lift... running down a dirt road, as you said. lol.

so you only need to plug if you have a lift? sorry to ask, just never heard of this. I removed my "trail spatula" a while ago but my truck isn't lifted. I don't off road, but hated the air dam.

 

For me, I removed the "trail spatula"lol without no difference. After lifting, however, the howling started.

You're in a thread asking for reviews and opinions. So far I've only seen people attacking the *product* on one side, and the people defending resorting to ad hominem. I think that kind of speaks for itself. (I'm only seeing a few "keyboard jockies" and they aren't the ones bashing spacers)

It's pretty common knowledge spacers suck for lifting. It's like cutting your coils on a civic instead of buying better springs. It gets the job done if all you care about is looks but the ride sucks, it handles worse than stock, and can damage other components. If you want it for looks more power to you, but you're on a forum dude, people are allowed to have an opinion...

Yes, people have opinions on forums. Duh. My whole point was people bashing others for what they are using. Anyway, sounds you know it all so I won't bother spending any more time explaining.

 

Your point is invalid. There are tons of people explaining why spacers are bad, and offering tons of great advice on better set ups. The ONLY people bashing others(people, not the products), are people defending spacers. I lost count at 7 personal attacks from people defending spacers, and didn't count one person on the other side of the debate skimming back through the thread.

You aren't mad people are bashing others. You're mad because they are pointing out the very obvious flaws with spacer lifts, you don't have an actual rebuttal, so you and others resort to ad hominem(and then somehow envision yourself the victim?)

Spacer lifts don't have flaws. If people push them beyond their intended purpose, they'll fail. That's like saying a Ferrari is flawed because it got stuck in the snow.

I rode in a buddy's this weekend with this kit and it actually road pretty well offroad on bumpy 2-tracks. If it shouldn't.. well then my current OME suspension is in dire need of replacement (nearing 90k miles).
