It's approx 7.5 hours to terlingua ranch from my house. Which isn't bad but is still a little haul.

CO is nice. I'm gonna try to make a trip this summer when it's boiling here

 

I was born in NC we moved when I was 6 we used to see my dads side of the family they live way in the backwoods outside Bristol. Loved it as a kid so much freedom, I moved to NC for a little over a year in 11-12 an drove thru there an was in awe.
Mom an Dad live in Montrose CO now no matter how many times I’ve been up there I hate leaving the Rockies. Sometimes makes me question my life an uprooting to move.

 

Terlingua is a little farther than I was expecting for you. Let me know when your thinking about Co if you want more to go. I would love to get up there again this year and really spend some time exploring more. I should have about 2 weeks of PTO for the year that I plan on using up on trips exploring!

Its def a hard choice. I've been thinking for a couple years about where I want to move next. I havent figured it out at all yet. The only thing I've known is I want to move west to make the drive to areas I want to spend my time exploring much much shorter. Been trying to figure out where a good area would be that isnt too expensive so I can get a little bit of space without going broke.

 

Good luck it seems expensive everywhere outside of TX.

 

FIFY. Yeah my research isnt going great on cheaper area's with a little room(maybe like 5+ acres) that still has high speed internet. I could go for less land but no matter what need a house with a good sized fenced yard(1/4-1/2 acre minimum!) for my dogs. My current 2 need the room and I wouldn't be against adding more. If I could get enough land I would also possibly look into starting a rescue to save more dogs. I only worry I wouldn't really rescue dogs but adopt way too many.

 

Broskiiii.. whats the status on that camper of yours?

Man, they supposed to deliver it "mid Feb" but it's slightly delayed. Hopefully it is here within the next 2 weeks

I gained a lot of confidence this trip! I think I'm gonna make a trip back real soon with just one other truck and get more confidence

The last part of the wait is the hardest but I get it. The truck is fun without anything on or in the bed so I'll have fun with it in this state

 

Doing it without any liquid courage adds to the challenge lololol
