Does anyone know what the front coil spring rate is on a 2018 DCLB Sr5?

I’d be interested to know the front stock coil spring rates on Sr5, Sport, OR and Pro.

Anyone have info? I’ve searched and haven’t really found exact numbers.

That would seem about right and if so I may just stay with stock coils instead of the 590lb OME.

Interesting, looks like the 2nd gen coil rate was 500 lbs?? Most people were upgrading their coils to 700lbs on the 3rd gen to compensate for aftermarket bumpers and winches, sounds like then people would need to go to a 750-800 lb coil

Ok, is that for all models? I thought Sport and OR and Pro were all different.

I’m considering OME springs, but if the rate isn’t more than stock, then I’ll just stay with stock.

Well something is odd, Pro coils are 650 but stocks are 717??

Doesn’t seem right. That’s why I’m trying to figure out the rates of the different stock models. I’m thinking Sport and OR are about 600

The coils that Toyotec offers in their coilovers and lifts is 650 as well according to their website. I dont know if 717 is a good figure.

Me personally, I went 700 because the consensus was 600 and I have a ton of weight up front.

I agree it does not make sense but I have not been able to find anything saying different. I assumed that is why Bilstein has different shocks for 3rd versus 2nd gen. The explanation I read, I think it was in the Toytec thread, is the higher rate spring can actually feel smoother on the small bumps if the correct shock valving is used.

I do know the 3rd gens sit higher up front. Also with the Bilstein 8112 shocks the same shock settings produce 0.6" less lift height on a 3rd gen. I have been having a discussion with a Bilstein tech about my shocks, I will see if he can tell me.

Eta: I plan on to also install 700lb springs also once my bumper gets here.

I've read stock 700ish before on here. Now i regret getting 600lb on my 6112(not installed yet). But so many were saying the ride would be harsh with 650 and no added weight.

Stock coils are in the neighborhood of 550lbs ±15.

    OME 887's are 590

Most aftermarket "big bodies" start at 12" 600.

The Tacoma should never need more than a 700 fully kitted out.

If you don't have steel armor and or a winch up front 600 should be enough, if you have steel armor but no winch 650.

^^^ This is 2nd gen info. The 3G is much heavier with heavier coils.

I read here somewhere 700lbs stock coil for 3G taco.

That's insane, it would ride like a dump truck.
