Yeah, I’m hyped on the materials. If you measure right it’s just like building legos
Honestly, not having my rear view mirror hasn’t bothered me once. My side mirrors are more than efficient for traffic.

The fit is a little tight. But I am looking forward to getting the lid sorted out and getting it secured into a baseplate.

Any specific reason you chose the driver’s side for the cabinet instead of the passenger side to help even out the taco lean?

I’m planning on having a fridge on the passenger side and another storage box. Basically copying the vagabond drifter goosegear built out minus the drawrers.

Yep. It's been a total non issue for me too. But, this seems like a cool use of the rearview mirror space. :)

I actually have my backup camera set up so I can flick a switch to turn it on. But, I still like the idea of a full time rear view.

Still, absolutely not necessary and I'm getting by fine without. YMMV.

Pretty sure you can still buy it. I just talked to their customer service last week. It’s all built in Taiwan I think. Payment is through PayPal, so if they don’t deliver...

Either way I’ve been enjoying night driving without blinding headlights.

I guess I will try to contribute here.

diy bed platform w/ fridge mount: *Pics to come* Used 3/4" plywood, 6"x1" planks underneath, HD outdoor carpet, slotted angle, HF straps, Dometic fridge.

diy baseplate with hilift mount and container "drawer": 1/2" plywood coated with waterproof paint, mounted using bed bolts. Used nutserts to mount to the wood. The container is off of Amazon.

Eezi awn swift awning (now removed for kinsmen): Used GFC awning mounts with a custom adapter.

Kinsmen hardware awning: Awning link: https://www.kinsmenhardware.com/

I was able to use 4 of the bolts, the 2 nearest the tailgate are not used. I have ATH reinforcement plates so the bolts are not long enough for both.

I'm planning on buying a TRD O/R soon and this thread is killing me! I ordered a GFC a week ago and am going to have to do my best to forget about it for the next twelve months. Is it odd that I ordered the camper before getting the new rig?

Haha, yeah. I've got a 2wd Tacoma that has been nothing but good to me despite the abuse I've given it, so I could at least put the GFC on that, but I find myself needing 4wd more and more and the wait list for a GFC is long, so...

Installed some LED lights from @mattgecko in the GFC. Ive never done any electrical stuff so it was a luxury to have everything I needed packaged and sent to me. Ive had a shopping cart full of the parts on Amazon for awhile and never had the confidence to pull the trigger.
It was a good first experience and Im looking forward to upgrading my battery and wiring up a fridge next!

Those look great. Is that a kit he's selling that's specific to the GFC?
